According to this site, you can be reinbursted for a PS 2 you bought at some point before sept 14th 04 and supposively they will either pay you cash replace or something like that with your PS..

Anyway my thoughts on this is as goes..

I had a PS2 that wouldn't read games and such anymore.. Instead of complaining about it I threw it away and traded all my games, memorycards and controllers in for some money and computer games.

Now we all know nothing lasts forever, so I dont even know why this lawsuit ever came up.. Think about the old Nintendo/SNES systems. Should we go sue them cause the system fails to work anymore.. hell even atari's that broke.. should we go after them also??

Anyway point being this claim is lame and stupid, just another way for people to get money for nothing...

Nah you see the difference is... they just released a knowingly defective product and hoped nobody would notice. I have never had a Nintendo system break down. I've had a SNES for a decade and everything about it still works perfect. It was the best system, in my opinion. In fact, it has been documented that a lot of Nintendo products can withstand being left outside for an entire winter in the snow, run over with a car, etc etc and still work. There is no way you can break an old Nintendo system unless you are doing it purposefully. They are robust and meant to be played with, unlike flimsy crap like Sony makes.

You see the difference is that the same thing was failing, in every single person's system. Firestone tires got recalled because they were blowing up and people were going off the road. Any tire can do this, but they were just doing it much more frequently and predictably. Same thing with Sony.

I will ignore your quasi-malapropisms like "reinbursted" and "supposively".

By law, every product is warranted some sort of guarantee of working. Many PS2s got Disc-Read Errors and ceased to work altogether. The NES, while frustrating at times, would still work; and I've never seen an ineffective SNES.

If you want to see a demonstration of system durability, take a look at this video
