I searched for this little beastie on the forums, but can't find a mention of it.
If anyone doesn't know what I'm banging on about, it's sometimes referred to as the "Solway Firth Photo".
Cumbria Spaceman
Brief synopsis; May 1964 Carlisle, Cumberland. Jim Templeton takes his wife and daughter to a nature reserve, Burgh Marsh, for a picnic. Templeton
figures this would be a good spot to take a picturesque photo of his daughter holding flowers.
When he collected the photographs after being developed, the woman in the shop quipped, "Nice photo, shame someone had to spoil it by standing behind
her". Templeton, confused, looks at the developed photo in question and sees the above.
He states he never saw anyone at the time of taking the photograph.
Templeton was later visited at the Fire Station where he worked as a Firefighter but two Government Officials where he was given the usual
grilling.
Me question is this - this topic seems to be pretty devoid of information. Most websites mention this and little else, it's intrigued me for years
this story.
Can anyone else shed any light on it? Thanks.
