I get them at yard sales, Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. for $.25 - $5
I won't pay more. Don't like the new stuff anyway. Cept for Sauron's stuff, and it's a FREE podcast.

yard sales and charitable organizations are hardly a standard for comparison...
i mean come on, you walk into a standard music store and the average price for a full length, new CD is going to be $10+
and even that is cheap.

Just to clarify (because some of my answers might be deceptive) I am against 'file sharing' and I have never done it. It's not pop-up warnings or fear of prosecution that keeps me from doing it, I think it's morally wrong. It's the same as theft to me.

2. If yes, do you know how it works? (yes/no/not applicable) YES - it works peer to peer vs. a central server (which is what screwed Napster)

3. At what price point would you purchase a music cd? (example, $6, $10, etc.) $10 is a fair price, more than that is too much imho

4. Has the availability of file-sharing reduced the amount of cds you purchase? (yes/no) NO - I like owning the cover art, etc.

2. You connect to a network of users who are all connected to eachother.
The users, called nodes, use the client to connect to other nodes and so on and so on. Using a Gnutella client you can search through the shared files of these users.

I wont buy a cd. Since 1998 I've probably bought 5 cds. I would prefer to purchace per-song on-line. $1 I think is a good price for each song.

4. No. I don't buy CDs because I don't want to listen to all the filler songs that are thrown on it.

6. P2P downloading is legal in Canada I don't have to worry about that.

7. No, but the viruses that are on the Gnutella network does.
