Here's a beta version of the subscription service proposed by Microsoft. This version includes a two-way firewall.

I jumped the gun on the above post, but you can sign up for the version now and you will be notified when it goes on line. This will be a beta version of the subscription service anticipated by Microsoft. It will be a good opportunity to preview the service in a more complete package than the one offered now.

Why on earth would anyone trust a microsoft firewall /virus scanner ?

There are so many good freeware firewall/virusscanners out there eg sygate , antivir to name 2

That's a good question. I don't trust the current Microsoft firewall, but it is not a two way version as will be offered in the beta program. Of course, folks can do as they wish. I will probably not be using it myself, as when my Norton subscription expires, I will switch to the free McAfee security programs offered by both MSN and Comcast.

Anyone have any opinions of McAfee products?
