I was wondering how to get my own picture for my avatar. I also need to know the amount of pixels I can have.

It's all helpfully written up.

Why not take the time to find it?

You are not wrong with your initial "huh", I checked the FAQ section and it's obsolete.

Avatar pictures come from all over the www, there are heaps of sites with ready made ones or millins of public domain pictures you can link to as well as specialty avatar sites.

Try 'Avatar Help' in ATS Search as well, there were a couple of good topics there. Make sure you link to your avatar correctly either at its webiste or in the ATS Uploads area.

FaithDefender, MA isn't quite right. if you do find an avatar you like on someone's site, save it to your computer and then upload it to the ATS upload space, or to your own webspace. linking directly from the image on someone else's site without their permission is called image leeching, and it's pretty rude. also, I know of more than a few webmasters who delight in changing leeched images to really really offensive images, so it's in your best interests that you don't

MC

I used the term public domain to cover images that were public domain, not anything and everything one might find.

Fulcrum

My ego needs no boosting, and it is you who is the lazy dirtbag, not FaithDefender. You lazy dirtbag.

FaithDefender

The crowd patiently awaits your avatar.

the image might be public domain, but bandwidth isn't free and most webmasters don't take kindly to bandwidth being siphoned off their site. it's not a copyright issue. of course, if you don't mind your image being switched to goatse unexpectedly, be my guest
