Well the Boeing Delta rocket carrying the new Pluto satalite will now take nine years to get to pluto instead of the four years they thought. The launch missed the window due to Boeing employees striking so now it will take nine years for it to make it to pluto

I found this:

A pending strike by Boeing aerospace workers threatens to delay several upcoming launches of Delta rockets. Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers plan to go on strike later this week if the union and Boeing cannot reach an agreement on a new contract.

It's dated October 30th...

Delay may mean a launch in early 2007.

I have also heard that when word of the strike surfaced Boeing hurried and certified people to load the satallite . Durring the strike the newly certified "engeneers" were trying to load the satallite and forgot to hook up a ground wire which caused a visable spark. So i hear it has to be gone through now and might launch in jan

When the government contracts work out it has to take into account things like strikes. Boeing has a history of strikes -- it has a really bad reputation in regards to labor issues -- and so any agency that is working with a schedule has only itself to blame if it hires boeing and a strike develops.
