So this is what it's all about? A self-proclaimed time traveller? Hehe.

Well, maybe he can't be tracked from his toddler years because he was careless in his "time travels" & wiped out his family tree.

It seems to me that this "John Titor" has a limited knowledge of time travel and how it would have to work to avoid paradoxes.
I will use variables to help illustrate my point better

1. In his host time (Point A) he travels back to the 70's (Point B) then to now (Point C) then to our future (Point D) then back to Point C (now) to warn us of things to come.

2. Once he left A to the past he could never return to that exact A. Here is why. Once he arrives in B, even if he only stays for a fraction of a second, his very presence there causes an alternate timeline to form. If he returns to A immediately he will encounter very little difference between the A he left and the "A" he now sees but the fact remains, he came from an A where there no one traveled back to B in that A's past, but returned to an A where there was a Trip back to B in that new A's past.

Now a great little problem arises here, you can leave but you can never come back.

Imagine if one were to travel back several decades and kill Hitler as a child. Time would skew into an alternate line from that point and things would be totally different in the time traveler�s future when he attempts to return home even if he travels back before he has done the deed then to the future.

The way Titor described time travel is just wrong and that is enough to prove to me that he was a fraud.

I love John Titor. Thats what got me hooked to ats. Dont you love how our motto is Deny Ignorance but there are people here discussing this story and half of them havent even read it all. Deny Ignorance my friends dont spread it.

If you would of read the entire thing you would know whats happening here. He stated in his posts that there were an infinite amount of paralell universes which he was actually jumping around on while moving backwards in time. Therefore there is no paradox about him ruining his future or whatever. He can only change the the future of the peoples "TimeLine" that he is on.

I dont know if Titor is real. I assume he is not because its kind of illogical that a time traveler would start posting on a message board. Its rather funny when you think about it. I try and keep an open mind and look at all facts because I know I will never know for sure. Even if I do think somethign is false I do not totally discredit it.

I for one would have not used my real name the reason being ,to protect or insure my future existance . Just what would happen if someone found the Titor family in central Florida and posted it on the net . would the time line be altered would the 3or 5 year old's life remain unaffected I doubt it ,somebody would make it their business to contact the family.

I personally believe its a BEAUTIFUL hoax. Nobody was hurt or swindled, it got people talking and thinking about science and the future, and he has resisted any ego trip by fessing up. He planned it, executed it, and walked away. Why the epithets?

Via the Heisenberg uncertainty principle there are an infinite number of possible realities.
Explanation: assuming that every time something happens in one reality there is an alternate reality created where that something did not happen.

Titor agreed to this in part but was wrong in the way to travel to another reality. (I actually did read the whole way through and found it a rather interesting and detailed hoax prior to posting.)

Think of time as a highway. Every event is like switching from one highway to another. Say you decide to go for a walk; you just traveled down an off ramp, up a road, and back onto an on ramp to another highway. (This is a very very loose interpretation of time, as we understand it.)
Now, if you were to put the car in reverse and travel back the way you came you could go down another off ramp to another on ramp to a totally different highway.

What Titor would have you do however is simply teleport from one highway to another. It�s just not possible.
He was wrong and could never return to his host time no matter what he has said. I clarified why in an earlier post

I wish people would learn about things before choosing sides. "Deny Ignorance", Learn about the physics of time travel. You may find many things you never thought before.

He could never return to his original world . He stated that he would never return to his actual timeline but because there are an infinite amount of universes with an infinite amount of possibilities it was highly likely that another john titor on another timeline would end up on his. and he would end up on someone elses. Every time he travels he goes to a new universe. he can never return to his true universe.

That�s what I was saying from the start. I never mentioned paradoxes, merely that he could never return to his original time.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

I have researched a lot about time travel and do believe it possible, but my belief is that if you were to go back and change something then return to the future you would then be in a future where the "you" in that timeline never needed to go back in time and thus there are 2 of you there, you and the original "you" that belongs in that timeline. You could exist there without any problem but you would never see the future you left again.

Example:
Someone you care for has just been killed, you go back in time and stop the murder and then return to your time to find that you never went back and there are 2 of you as in the above explanation.
There is only one exception that I am aware of and it�s not really an exception, more like deception and is largely dependant on chance:
Instead of stopping the murder, perform a kidnapping and return with the victim to the future. True there is a great difference between a run away and a murder on it's effects on emotions of the family and friends but if you were to do so then it is highly more likely of returning to a future in which you went back in time to save the victim and thus you can simply assume the role of the you in that reality.
Another option is to go back and save the victim from the attack and then journey to the far and distant future and live out your life there as in �The Time Machine� by H.G. Wells.

I think there is one thing that enforces that he was not what he said he was. He had claimed that he could never return to the exact reality that he had left from. Why then would the government send him in the first place. If he left he would never return and bring the computer he was sent back to retrieve. I would like to clarify that one minute he says he is going back to the exact reality because the machine just needs to backtrack the path it had taken and then he claims in several cases that this is not the case.

Maybe there are circumstances that I am not aware of, or maybe he was not completely sure himself, but if there were any evidence to the legitimacy of his claims I think this is it. Other than that he seems very knowlegable about time travel.

2. The Schematic of his time-travelling device is is intriguing, to say the least. I'm no engineer, but it looks pretty genuine. Plus, he talks about the travel in 'Years per hour.' I've never thought of time travel like that. Perhaps that is actually the way it works....

As for this.... well I'll just tell you that I am a business owner of a small illustrator and design company and this would not be hard to forge.

He also had a lot of photos. One of them included a lazer light that was projected outside of the machine while it was working. I'm not a scientist, but I think there were several posts debunking this photo. Not sure of the specifics but if you would like to search for the thread click here

Oh by the way even though I wasn't born until 2005. My grandmother hilda told me that kerry wins the election by 2001 votes and bush asks for a recount again. It goes on for a while and instead Bush and Kerry become co-presidents. this leads to a country division where the usa becomes 2 countries by 2007. One country is the United States of BS or BUSh and the other the united states of KY or Kerry.
Oh yeah then there are 2 massive earthquakes in new madrid and in california. (which is now called the isle of california).Its an island you know.
Oh there are so many more I can tell u but the most important is that this John titor is exposed by a time traveling diva. ( who would be me) lol. I have no proof but Trust me I come form 2040 so you have to believe me. I am your future.

oh yeah actually a year from now in the goveronment brings in all possible "John titor" suspects including Rush Limbaugh who is drugged up on morphin. For a while people think Rush is John but soon people look to howard stern, then ellen degeneres. basically they go on a john titor witch hunt but only look for celebrities whos careers are backsliding.
