Sorry, OnTheDeck, but EBE 17 is right.

The circular crops are nothing unusual and have been discussed here at length.

The "large structure" northwest of Area 51 and southeast of Tonopah is the salt evaporation ponds at Silver Peak.

The truth about Google earth and seeing anything is that you shouldn't waste your time. Every county in the world, well almost, tracks Satellites orbits and knows when one is over a specific location. In other words, if theres anything to see its in one of the hangers when the Satellites passes overhead.

And if they screw up, someone from Google pastes trees over it, or pixelates it. Or in the case of Area 51, backdates the image.

EDITED TO ADD:
Now that I think about, I am considering DEMANDING that Google pixelate the view of my house. I give people regular tours of my house, but god forbid someone sees it in rather poor resolution from above. They might see my super secret trampoline in the backyard (also part of the tour).

EDITED FURTHER:
After a bit further thought, I am willing to allow Google to use the image of my house. Of course, I wish to be monetarily reimbursed for every view, as I don't recall giving Google permission to do this.

In addition, The government admitted years ago that the base was used for Top Secret Cold War Tests, but they also add that it is no longer an active base, which we all know is just a ploy.

For some reason Google Earth often blurs out things like some areas of southeast Asia. Originally they were perfectly clear but since some terrorists have discovered the use of Google Earth then they had to blur them out. But.. the government could be doing something like this for a reason.
