Chagrin Chagrin, why so down trodden Mainer? "Future Credibility" is never gaged by prior FUN. I would hope the results of the site the other 364 days a year would have some play in that dire equation.

I have been on the receiving end of few well orchestrated practical jokes and always appreciated the effort the "players" put into it for my amusement and emotional ride... But that's just me, I am a generally happy person.

The Skunk Works is exactly what appears to be, a new forum we will launch very soon in response to some polling we did. The PEOPLE have spoken, we have LISTENED.

Long lost twins perhaps?

Just a speculative guess, but could the skunkworks be where the really bad stinky threads go to? Like the ones that get trashed?

If you listen to Skeptic's last Pod-Cast you would know what the forum is for.

They are making a forum, where the best posts [each month] can get moved so that we can all easily find them. I do believe. Although I am having to run off of memory.

Not downtrodden, just aware that the staff has a history this time of year. Never know if this is the 1/365.

Did he say how it will be calculated? By WATSes or by the mods?

It goes by the size of the moustache in the poster's avatar.

Soon civil war buffs will rule the board, mwa hahahahahaha!

This is just like what titor talked about.

A fair question... I'm sure the answer will be equally fair.
When we get it...

I would suppose, guessing with the skunkworks title, that it'd be a place for new, credible, and interesting theories regarding ATS content. My grandfather worked for the "Skunkworks" division at Sikorsky Aircraft, and was one of the original design team members for the Huey, and Super Huey helicopters, both of which redefined helicopters at the time. Given my knowledge (though limited, and since he's gone, will never grow any further from a firsthand source) of the workings of the Skunkworks division at Sikorsky, I'd say that I'm probably not too far from the actual truth on the reasons for this new forum.
