This avian flu is just not going away, i'm not one who gets carried away with things like this, but its definetly getting more serious as each day passes, I only hope something is done to nip this in the bud.

It does seem like every day brings a little more information into light. It just seems really frustrating now and again, as the information always seems to be tid bits.

Only time will tell how this plays out.

Doh, [caution: VENTing!]

Avian flu has always been dormant +/or active in wild bird populations. Just like cancer in people, we were just not aware of the cause of death. So what are we going to do about- Maybe they will want to kill off all wild bird populations. That seems to be the mentality of this generation. If we can't exploit it, kill it.

Well according to all the articles I have been reading this is a serious vector point. Two things (minimum) have to happen for this virus to become a pandemic. First it needs to easily mutate to a form that is passed human to human and second it needs an easy way to travel. Well I guess the latter has happened. I am not familiar with the Reunion Islands but I assume that these people flew there. Does that mean everyone on the plane has come in contact with the virus. As these people all returned to their homes did they in turn pass it to their local avain population and why we are seeing it turn up in Europe, Russia etc or is that simple migration patterns of other birds?
