"We find ourselves faced by powers which are far stronger than we had hitherto assumed, and whose base is at present unknown to us. More I cannot say at present. We are now engaged in entering into closer contact with those powers, and in six or nine months time it may be possible to speak with some precision on the matter."

Werner Von Braun

incredible? Anyone know where this came from, or in regards to?

Was he talking about the rocket he invented?

I dunno, I can't find it in context. The statement just captures my imagination. I thought of this in lieu of our recent discussion including Dr. Sarbacher. Von BRaun ( and TELLER) are often mentioned as apart of ufo studies. And the roswell wreckage did stop off at FT. Worth (?) where Von Braun was stationed.

Hi mj 09,

Good question.

I haven't read all these articles, but you could find it in this site.

Sanctum,

I skimmed through those articles, I didn't find anything regarding this; however I did learn he worked with NASA, which is new to me.

This Von Braun quote has been debunked.

www.virtuallystrange.net...

I do think that Von Braun knew about the reality of UFOs though. He was in New Mexico throughout the mid 1940s on. I believe his assistant or secretary had come out after his death and talked about what he knew.

I also think so. Dr Carol Rosin, who was the spokesperson of Wernher Von Braun, has testified in the Disclosure Project. For those interested, you can see his testimony at the Press Conference here.

More info on said quote although op may be not around anymore, but for posterity etc

From "Above Top Secret" by Timothy Good, William Morrow and Company, Inc. 1988 the quote is in that book and in john scotts chase books.

I will check to see if i can find the original interview or whatever it was this quote was said and see the context therein.

Ok found said quote on page 370

"In 1959 Dr. Wemher von Braun, another great space pioneer, made an intriguing statement, reported in Germany. Referring to the deflection from orbit of the US Juno 2 rocket, he stated: “We find ourselves faced by powers which are far stronger than we had hitherto assumed, and whose base is at present unknown to us. More I cannot say at present. We are now engaged in entering into closer contact with those powers , and in six or nine months’ time it may be possible to speak with more precision on the matter.” 15 [Emphasis added] There has been nothing further published on the matter. As Dr. Robert Sarbacher has commented (see Chapter 16), von Braun was probably

involved in the recoveries of crashed UFOs in the late 1940s, and it is my opinion that he was constrained from elaborating on the subject owing to the security oath that he must have been subject to. I cannot prove this, of course, any more than I can substantiate information I have received from a reliable source that top secret contacts have been made
by extraterrestrials with selected scientists in the space program.

It must
be admitted, though, that von Braun’s statement comes close to corroborating this. What else could he have meant when he said, “We are now engaged in entering into closer contact with those powers”? The
Soviets?"

After more digging it appears this german article was in Neues Europa, 1 January 1959.

While it’s well known he had knowledge of alien life and a lot of paranormal things and was well versed on the communications of some rather witchy women that communicated with aliens for none other than Hitler. And a lot of that information was on electro gravitational anti gravity all the gyro and mercury studies that led to incredible research
that later went on after the bell experiments with the nazis to paper clip collaborating with incredible minds like that of Einstein...Rainbow and the Philadelphia experiment.
And many more much higher classified projects. Reverse engineering alien craft, anti gravity, time travel, teleportation, cloaking, tractor beams/levitation etc... Or so they say...

But there was also a time when he was at NASA when public interest and funding was dropping off...
I’m not sure if these statements he supposedly made were around that time but information like that could have been used to hopefully create a renewed interest... If that was the case it was unsuccessful for the rocketman as far as his career with NASA went...

For those wondering about those witchy women...

Good work on the trace-back. I'm traveling but I have the original German source [dug out by a friend who took a whole day travelling and searching archives], it was a loony tune mimeographed mailing from a guy who announced he had been chosen by the space people to be president of Earth. The text refers to von Braun and then also to some other ideas, not attributed to him. It appears, like everything else in that issue, to be entirely delusional. I will dig it out when I get home.

Von B knew about ET in the mid 30's due to the Black Forest crash. So of course VB knew about ET and what was going on when he was in the US. He was one of the top scientist involved in rocketry at the time.

I did learn he worked with NASA, which is new to me.

Werner Von Braun is the sole reason NASA has such a presence in Huntsville, AL, and consecutively the reason Huntsville has become such a leader in engineering and the home of UAH. Legend has it that shortly after he came to the US, the military escort transporting him stopped in Huntsville one night, and Von Braun liked the place so much he demanded his headquarters eventually be moved there.

There are tributes to him everywhere, including the Von Braun Research Hall at UAH. It is common to hear the phrase, "God Bless Werner Von Braun" in any NASA facility. Yes, he worked quite extensively with NASA.

As to the quote... no idea about that context; first I have heard of it. I'll be interested in finding out what it was in reference to myself.

The launch he referred to must have happened on December 6, 1958. The mission was a failure. Pioneer 3 was supposed to orbit the moon but didn't because some sensors cut boost a few seconds early, changing velocity and angle of the payload.

The mission was important in the discovery of the previously unknown Van Allen radiation belts. Maybe the radiation belt was what Von Braun was referring to?

The quotation seems to have gone through several retranslation cycles. Or it might be entirely fictional.

The US would have never gotten to the Moon without that obsessive Nazi. That was always his dream. I also have suspected for a long time that it was his experiments with corpses launched in V2 rockets that ended up being "The Roswell Crash." Good reason for the government to keep it secret, even after all these years.

Freeman Dyson and other historians have written persuasively that the net effect of the V-2 program was Germany collapsing six months or more sooner due to the crushing demand for high-tech equipment and rare hi-energy fuels, that if applied to more conventional weapons could have lengthened the war leading to millions more fatalities in Europe and tens of millions in the Pacific -- including inter alia my father and uncles. So be GRATEFUL the von Braun team diverted Hitler from far more effective weapons [Speer in his memoirs confirms this ‘mistake’]. I’ll take any such happy result, inadvertent or not – and we don’t have to forget the V-2’s victims in London and the slave cave factories. The non-existence of the V-2 wouldn’t have saved such losses, it would have multiplied them. Every V-2 built was a dozen fighter jets not built, a hundred anti-aircraft rockets not built, a squad of Tiger tanks not built. The cold-blooded calculus of casualties is morally complex.

The Battle Of The Bulge towards the end of the war was a shock to the Allies, the new ultra-durable Tiger tanks inflicting horrific casualties at a time when it was expected that Germany would buckle rather than spend time badgering away underground with such new tech. I'm sure you know more than me, Jim (too hot to Google!), but I think this particular battle was supposed to prolong the war on that front just long enough to develop far greater numbers of V-2s - and potentially far, far worse.

Of course, the Germans underestimated the fuel supplies necessary for the Tigers. Thank God.

LOOK UP THERE, JIM! A UFO!
