well, on danger of being flamed
by those who are sorely against p2p clients, i just wanted to know if anyone on this board used them regularly, and if so which ones? if youd rather not respond to the post you could always u2u me and we could discuss there.

As long as you don't discuss illegal uses of it... then it's fine I think. Just plain peer to peer is perfectly legal I believe....

precisely why i offered the option to u2u. i try and try and try to follow forum rules, sometimes i think i just misinterpret. if this is in violation may i request that its deleted outright?

p2p can be a valid source of software, although somewhat risky. Bittorrent has been quite well adopted as a method to distribute the load of hosting software such as Linux and various open source software projects. Also if your seeking out the indie music p2p is a great source, and if your a cover-song nut like myself there is no other way to go really as you can't buy what often is only available as a live bootleg.

i primarily use it to obtain setup files for programs ive already purchased but have misplaced the cd. im horrid at that. so i have jewel cases with cd keys but no cds! so i dload the programs and install them as needed.

as i mentioned already i lose cds like none other, so i do on occassion dload music that ive already purchased, but misplaced the cds. i cant tell you how many cds ive lost, its rediculous.
