A History of Natural Disasters. Is History Repeating Itself ???



With all of the recent events that have taken place since the December 26 EarthQuake and Tsunami, I am talking about the weird weather like, first time ever tropical storm hits spain, 2 Catagorie 5 Huricanes hit America, and China. Drought in South America that is drying up the Amazon. Major Earth Quakes in Iran, Pakistan,...and America is waiting for the next Big One to strike at any time. Forest Fires, 20" of snow in Colorado in the first week of October. One of the worst plagues ever known Avian Flu, ready to make a leap onto the world scene. Volcanic Activity on the rise...
With all of these events all happening at once, many people are affraid of what will come next. Surely, this must be the end of days, right? WRONG!


What can History teach us, about these events??? Has this rise in activity ever happened before? Is this all a buildup to something more terrible to come?





What you may be shocked to find out is, this has happened before.

All you need to do is go back 100 years... to the start of the 1900's.

1896 - Earthquake and Tsunami strikes Japan killing 27,000
1900 - Hurricane Sept. 8 Galveston, Tx. 8,000 people killed in the storm, mostly from flooding caused by the storm surge
1902 - Forest Fire destroys 1,000,000 acres in Washington State
1903 - Volcano, Mt. Pelee erupted killing 40,000 in the city of St. Pierre, West Indies
1904 - Fired Blazed in Baltimore, Maryland destroying 1500 buildings
1906 - Hurricane hits Hong Kong accompanied with a Tsunami killing an estimated 10,000 people
1906 - Earthquake April 18 San Francisco 3,000 people dead or missing
1908 - Earthquake hits Sicily 100,000 dead
1914 - 1918 World War 1
1918 - Spanish Flu killed 500,000 in America alone, 40,000,000-100,000,000 million dead world wide and this is before air travel!

This 20 year peroid is widely considered to have been the most violent cycle in modern history. However, the world didn't come an end. There is nothing to be worried about, this is just the Earth and the Sun going through one of its more violent cycles. However, many people do not see it that way. Many people see what is happening and they are affraid. If you learned anything from Star Wars, it is that fear leads to the dark side. Hopefully the world will not erupt into war like it did at the end of the last cycle.

Suprised that there isn't more interest in history, Those that fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it!

Also, remember Hurricane Betsy that struck New Olreans and surrounding coastal areas in Sept. 1965. It caused devastating floods, the worst in history, similar to that of Katrina. The levees broke and caused over a billion dollars in damage to homes and businesses, hence the hurricane being called "billion dollar betsy."

Yes, I'll agree these hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, fires, etc. have happened in the past, but not as close in proximity as they are happening currently. In my opinion, this is definitely some kind of wake up call.

i agree with you but, nawadays global warming is coarsing a huge difference in weather patturns and would coarse these natural events to get more extreme!!!!!
