The end result is still the same, a senior member of the Iranian govt made these statements, Its executive is having a time answering protests of other govts. and neighbouring islamic states distanced themselves from Iran.

Everyone knows that isreal has nukes. If isreal did attack iran with or without any other country it wouldn't matter because the only way iran would win is if other islam countries got involved, or iran uses nukes in which case would be enough evidence to the would for the EU and the US to whomp them. That's reversed logic:Israel has 200 nukes and everyone knows that
Egypt,Iran,Syria(from Iraq) and Saudi Arabia(at least) have nukes ,not as advanced vectors as the Israeli side.
So,if Israel strikes Bushehr's reactor,it will be like a friction to a wooden leg ,but it will infuriate Persia,who may respond with convetional or strategic means.
Regardless,Israel will respond in turn with nuclear weapons,so it's likely they will use the nuclear option against Israel and USA
There's a snowball in hell chance that Persia will not respond at all,but the Israeli bombing will agrevate the situation in the region.More hatred towards USA,so they have to act...invasion of Iran or bombing.Nuclear war follows,Russia and China cannot lose their only strategic(oil) aly in the region.

Not only is it hubris, but it's absolute insanity to sit idly by and allow them to develop such a weapon.

Not much insane than allowing Israel to have nuclear weapons.
They have nukes,the whole region has:Egypt,Saudi Arabia,Syria,Iran for sure,others doubtfull.
Their only concern is to have as many and fast nukes as the Israelis.
Let's face it:kids sell Scuds on Ebay! you can find soviet nukes in the Soviet Union black markets;arms dealers are selling helicopters,airplanes,rockets on the net!(see carigroup.com) Anyone wiyh enough fortune and determination may terminate life on Earth by inciting a nuclaer war
