The Palestinian educational system is set up to instill in Palestinians hatred towards Israelis since childhood to the point of total anihilation and denial that the State of Israel does exist.

And what does the ISREALI Educational System?

OR their Mandatory Military Service for Men and Women?

Geee - I wonder.

Isreal is a MILITARY STATE, a Fortress of Western Colonialism, standing in the middle of Islamic Countries, holding one of the 3 Holy Muslim Cities Only for themselves!

What did you Expect?

A Warm Welcome?

Bed of Roses?

Isreali Bulldozers are demolishing EVERYTHING in their Path, including Hundred Year old Olive Trees - the Trees of Peace. They are Destroying last Bridges between them and the Muslim people, living here in Vast Majority.

But with Endless Support from the US all of their Terrorist Actions can get wiped clean and easily forgotten.

?

Our educational system aims to prepare children to become responsible members of a democratic, pluralistic society in which people from different ethnic, religious, cultural and political backgrounds coexist.

OR their Mandatory Military Service for Men and Women?

The zaHal had to defend Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East in five major wars since 1948.

Men serve for three years, women for 21 months, and upon completion of compulsory service, each soldier is assigned to a reserve unit.

The IDF grants general exemptions from compulsory service to various segments of the population:

  • Israeli Arabs
  • women who are married, are pregnant or who have children
  • women who declare that they lead a religiously observant life and who choose to pursue 'national service' - community work.
  • students engaged in religious studies in an accredited Jewish Law institution

Gazan civil war?

On Sunday night, two Palestinian Authority police officers were killed. Some 30 Palestinians, 20 Hamas militants and 10 PA police officers were wounded in in the worst outbreak of internal Palestinian fighting since Israeli troops withdrew from the Gaza Strip last month.

Palestinian Authority Police Chief A'alah Husni had announced that guns will no longer be allowed to be carried in public by anyone other than the Palestinian Authority police. (more)

Hamas spokesmen have already announced they did not intend to abide by the order.

The incident started following an attempt by the PA police in Gaza City's Sheikh Ruwan to stop a taxi carrying armed Hamas militants, led by Muhammed Rantissi (the son of former Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantissi who had has been killed by Israel last year).

Rantissi and his cohorts refused to hand over their weapons and the PA police opened fire at the car's wheels. Hundreds of residents rushed to the scene and pelted the policemen with stones, forcing them to flee the area. The fighting soon spread across the city, involving dozens of participants.

Hamas militants fired rocket propelled and mortar shells at PA police stations in Gaza City neighborhoods.

A number of police stations have been completely demolished, while others were set ablaze as a result of the mortar fire.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry has released a statement placing blame on Hamas for the escalation:.

“Hamas has breached the Palestinian factions’ agreements and the Palestinian Authority’s orders to lay down its arms,

Hamas bears full responsibility for breaking the law and order, and for destruction of public properties as well as assaulting a large number of civilians, including children," the ministry's statement read, according to RNA.

The interior ministry further mentioned that by these clashes, Hamas movement has considered itself "above the law and national consensus,"

Hamas spokesmen reacted by saying the law was an attempt to destroy Hamas.

"There's a faction in the PA that is trying to uproot Hamas and is planning to confront us.

Hamas will confront this faction, which receives its blood-stained support from London and Washington, even at the cost of a Palestinian civil war,"

Muhammad Nazal, a senior Hamas spokesperson based in Damascus, said.

The title of this thread would lead some to believe that Israel is somewhat provoking a confrontation with Palestinian militants.

I, for one, stand by Israel to the very end. I've read many anti-Israeli statements on ATS and to me, I just can't comprehend the hatred anyone has for "my brothers and sisters".

Here is the latest development over there:Israel suspends offensive as Gaza police clash with Hamas

TextJERUSALEM (AFP) - Israel suspended an offensive against militants in the Gaza Strip, including targeted killings, as clashes between Hamas gunmen and Palestinian police trying to enforce an arms ban killed at least three in Gaza City.

There are many Palestinians and Arabs within the Israel Defense forces. Why are these people ever asked why do they fight for Israel?

Today, (on Monday), about 40 Palestinian policemen broke into the Palestinian parliament building in Gaza City, firing in the air to protest what they said was the humiliation police are facing because of attacks by Hamas militants. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Policemen who rushed into the parliament building complained they lacked weapons and equipment needed to subdue Hamas and other armed factions and said Abbas's Palestinian Authority seemed helpless.

"We want the Palestinian Authority to take a stand on Hamas. Our blood is flowing for the Authority and they are not doing anything," one officer dressed in black told Reuters.

Reuters: Palestinian police storm into Gaza parliament

Yesterday, Hamas gunmen had attacked the local police stations with assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades and one camp's deputy police chief, Ali Makawi, was killed in the fighting.

The fiercest internal fighting since 1996 (when the Palestinian Authority clamped down on Hamas and carried out mass arrests) on Sunday raged for about six hours, and subsided only around midnight Sunday, after Egyptian mediators stepped in.

The PA parliament today (on Monday) voted to urge President Mahmoud Abbas to dismiss the Palestinian cabinet for failing to halt armed chaos in Gaza after Israel's pullout. Abbas must form a new government within two weeks.

Tension between Hamas and the Palestinian police has risen steadily over the past days and on Sunday, Mohammed Nazel (a senior Hamas official living in Damascus) threatened civil war in response to the PA declaration that it will no longer allow arms to be carried in the streets.

But (Israeli) Radio analysts said, a civil war between the PA and Hamas is a red line that neither of the both sides is willing to cross amd they think it is unlikely that a wide confrontation will erupt prior to PA elections (January 2006).
