TextJERUSALEM (AFP) - Israel suspended an offensive against militants in the Gaza Strip, including targeted killings, as clashes between Hamas gunmen and Palestinian police trying to enforce an arms ban killed at least three in Gaza City.
Policemen who rushed into the parliament building complained they lacked weapons and equipment needed to subdue Hamas and other armed factions and said Abbas's Palestinian Authority seemed helpless.
"We want the Palestinian Authority to take a stand on Hamas. Our blood is flowing for the Authority and they are not doing anything," one officer dressed in black told Reuters.
