CBS Says Mike Brown Is Rehired As FEMA Consultant

According to a CBS blog, Gloria Borger reports that Michael Brown has returned to FEMA.
22 days after Brown resigned as FEMA director, allegedly the agency has hired him back as a consultant.



I think we are all crossing our fingers hoping that this is false information. Hiring him back is even worse than hearing the president saying "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job."

If what CBS is reporting is accurate, this will feel like a kick in the stomach for Katrina victims.

If it is, they may have done so as an obligation to his contract, if he had one.

Or, "Bushie" may have put him there as a poltical gesture.

And the gravy train rolls on..into the sunset, and bankruptcy.

When you're trying to manage a deficit, the number one priority should be eliminating non-essential expenses.

Brownie is the quintessential example.

He's about as non-essential as you can get.

In fact, he's counter-essential.

But like I said, the gravy train rolls on. The taxpayers foot the bill for the administration's dalliances. One of these days everyone will stop paying taxes all together, and by doing so, put a stop to this rampant abuse of power.

The same thing goes on in the corporate world. Guys get millions for their consulation, which amounts to a few appearances at corporate seminars, a few golf games, some lunches with other peons.

It's ridiculous that people are actually okay with paying for this.

But they are, apparently, since there's been no open revolt.
