There is an extra space between docs_ 03 it should be docs_03!

I read the article didn't make my day.

This guy is an anarchist or a socialist and not concerned about America maintaining its place in the world.

America has no place in the world as long as it acts like it is now acting.

More people are now open to belief that something is indeed wrong with what is going on now that the events in Iraq have played out in the method in which it has. This is one time in history where there is ample amount of coincidences to make a conspiracy really ring true. Definitely one of the most blatant abuses of power I have ever seen. Maybe the biggest blatant abuse.

Empire is about abuses of power.

So let me guess now we have a democracy in the world?

Why now because it is the USA's turn to run the world.

Just wondered?

This was a nice, far-reaching essay. Conclusion is best, it does encourage you to speak to others so they can act with righteous anger as well...

"If you are someone who finds questions like this to be dangerously incendiary and conspiratorial, I would direct you to look long and hard at this document [SEE LINK BELOW]. This is a set of instructions issued from the Joint Chiefs of Staff on the 1st of June 2001, describing in minute detail the protocols and procedures to be undertaken if a plane is hijacked. Not one of these protocols, issued three months and ten days before the terror attacks, were followed. Why?

I believe we as a nation are in the gravest of trouble. I believe our troubles have only just begun, and unless something is done, our troubles will come to undo this democratic experiment before too much longer. I also believe, however, in the words of Thomas Paine: "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."

I believe that Jen, behind the bar at Charlie's, is as fine an example of an American as one can find. She works hard, and follows the news as she can. I believe that when she hears these hard truths and bitter facts, she will act upon them with the basic courage and searing outrage that is the hallmark of any American who has been lied to and used. I believe that Jen has the power in her hands to reverse this course, and I believe she will do it when armed with the truth. I believe the Bush administration will come to know true fear if people like Jen are unleashed.

I believe it is time for my dinner. I will speak with Jen. Who will you speak with today?"

The FAA procedures document (what should have been the protocol for preventing loss of life on 9/11) is interesting - but I had a problem getting to read most of the pdf. One day... I would suggest downloading it, it's good.

www.dtic.mil...

The big questions, of course, always include the "what" that accompanies the statement "unless something is done..."

The best strategy would be to have this corrupt administration out of office this calendar year.

Were all you people crying when the russians went into Afghanistan or Georgia or wherever?

Why do you not cry for Tibet or Mongolia?

There seems to be a 'socialist' thing attached to many people's criticism of the US.

I also know other people these days criticising the US not for moral reasons but because they are standing up for themselves more now and they are not so easy to exploit anymore.

nationalism ( P )
n.
1. Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation.

2. The belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively, emphasizing national rather than international goals.

3. Aspirations for national independence in a country under foreign domination

Nobody gives a crap about other people's problems unless it affects them in some manner, such as the U.S. military in Iraq. I also am in line with that train of thought.

heelstone,

therefore you are globalist?

what kind of globalist empire do you envision?

Globalist? I am nothing of the sort. Unless somehow some perfect utopia could be created would I even think of such a thing.

In the case of the world around us. People and their beliefs are too different to unify in any peaceful manner. It would be best for everybody to live in separate nations as we currently do. I like world trade, but not a world unified government in any shape or form.

heelstone,

we are in agreement,
though I think in time these things cannot be avoided.
but I am increasingly of the opinion that the enforced globalism is too far along to be stopped also.
Not that I am in favour of this brand of 'globalism.'
The point is to get the best possible outcome.
I am of the belief that there is real conflict in the world right now, despite what many here believe,
the conflict is about who is going to rule.

If the US loses then you may not be speaking English much longer.
