Raging hormones, affluence and the development of a "teen culture" all caused reasonable adults to sit back and say "This too shall pass". But Rock and Roll are still here...still rocking out pulse pounding rhythms and primal emotions. Rock and Roll, as we all know, is here to stay.

Born and nurtured in the hypnotic, pulse-driving riffs of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, Heavy Metal has, in spite of criticism, numerous critical attacks and downright malicious accusations and even legal harassment, somehow survived. Of course, the fans of heavy metal can easily sound out in unison that "Heavy Metal" will never die!" but they are expected to say that. That's why they call them fans. But what -- really -- is the prognosis for this almost Wagner-esque "blip" on the time stream of music? Ten, twenty or even one hundred years from now, will Heavy Metal exist? Will it continue to be a mainstay on the live-streaming chip that was embedded in our brains at birth? Or will Heavy metal be considered a musical aberration in the annals of music? Will it be studied in music academies or played by municipal symphony orchestras? What do you think?
