In New York City, restauranters who signed a lease for a $15,000 / month restaurant space refuse to pay the lease because the owners didn't inform them of the fact that they were renting a haunted space.

Haunted Restaurant causes lawsuit

The owners were freaked when nighttime renovation work came to a hault because of the spectors scaring the contractors.

Emilio San Martin, the owner of a company called Orlando Ghost Tours, said the spirits belonged to children who were illegitimate offspring of prostitutes and were killed on the property many years ago.

Mr. San Martin, whose tours start at the building, said that the ghosts had been seen there for more than 100 years, and that at a previous restaurant on the site "staff members and guests alike would hear the piano playing." A man would smile and then disappear, he said.

The property owners of course saw the renters have to pay their lease. The lease holders hired a lawyer who cited the undisclosed haunting as fact and the reason his clients aren't obliged to continue the lease.
