There's a researcher who has a recollection of the jet fighters being called off the chase on 9/11. I've read many accounts of this as well, but never seen it quoted by the military intelligence personnel as this guy has.

Can anyone help him?

A request from Ed Griffin:

If you recorded TV news on 9-11, I need your help. On 9-11, or shortly therafter, an Air Force general was asked on TV why he did not respond in time to divert or destroy the hijacked planes before they hit their targets. His reply was that his pilots were prepared for takeoff, sitting in their planes on the runway, waiting for orders from above. This is astounding because, although I did not realize it at the time, standard procedure up until 9-11 was to scramble jet fighters into the air immediately upon first knowledge that any craft is significantly off course. It normally takes less than three minutes to accomplish that. On 9-11, it took one hour and five minutes. Launching interceptors should be automatic and no presidential order is required for that except on 9-11. It appears that, on that day, someone very high up had altered standard procedures. Why they would do so is the subject of my presentation entitled The Grand Deception, available as a download elsewhere on this site. My recollection of the generals statement is strong, but we need to have the video to verify it. I hope that someone out there captured it on videotape. If so, I would be grateful to obtain a copy. Thanks for your help. Ed Griffin.

MA,

I can run searches through Lexis-Nexis for you. It offers transcripts but no video. Are you familiar with Lexis-Nexis?

I am familiar with a few dozen staff of the organization internationally, but not the database functions you're referring to.

I'm not sure how old this guy's request is, or why he would find it difficult to track down the very news he has seen, but it's an interesting angle. There must have been tens of thousands of people who saw the same interview, but who have somehoe had it erased from their memory banks.

Cheney and Bush could do mutual finger-pointing, but its my understanding that the Commander-In-Chief had to make a call between doing something in the interests of national security before he arrived at his school appointment, not a press session or reading to children about goats.

Oops, I was confused. I thought YOU were looking for this interview.

Actually... the first witness in the 9/11 hearings, a widow of a WTC worker, asked these exact questions in her statement to the commission.

Isn't it common sense to escort the jet in question so you can react to an order as soon as possible?

Common sense lifesaving and national security is mutually exclusive from bankable Dubya trifectas.

Maybe the tapes are so hard to find because the gov got rid of them.

Would the government in any way have a claim to own the content that has been produced by a private news channel? Can it subpoena such things?

There was an interesting episode of the David Kelley series Beggars & Choosers that covered a terrorist attack and the FBI securing videotapes, but only AFTER they were screened - ie in the (fictional in this case) public domain. That seems a reasonable analogy to this 9/11 instance, where the material was already made public.

I'm certain if the researcher could remember where he viewed the interview (what channel) he could get access to it, both through the TV station and through countless people that woul have videotaped stuff after 9/11. But is he having a hard time finding it, yes it would seem so.
