I think this is more suited for political scandals since the whole administration is from the oil related industries, and the prices of oil have done
nothing but go up with record profits, short sighted maybe but 100% something fishy is going on at the people and planets expense.
I came across this article and the details it gives is very convincing, so as an american i say lets get the F out of Iraq along with the middle east
as a whole, and put our resources and efforts into utilizing this method till we have made the TRUE technological advancements to move onto other
forms of resource manipulation.
Shell's method, which it calls "in situ conversion," is simplicity itself in concept but exquisitely ingenious in execution. Terry O'Connor, a
vice president for external and regulatory affairs at Shell Exploration and Production, explained how it's done (and they have done it, in several
test projects):
Drill shafts into the oil-bearing rock. Drop heaters down the shaft. Cook the rock until the hydrocarbons boil off, the lightest and most desirable
first. Collect them.
While we were trying to do the math, O'Connor told us the answers. Upwards of a million barrels an acre, a billion barrels a square mile. And the oil
shale formation in the Green River Basin, most of which is in Colorado, covers more than a thousand square miles - the largest fossil fuel deposits in
the world
here is the whole articles link
American
independence
The beauty of this article is how it addresses the various problems and their solutions that could arise, as well as the detailed numbers of the
project.
Now we have no reason to worry about the middle east so let them keep themselves in the dark ages and the western world progress. (I am an immigrant
from Iran moved here when i was 3 am now 24, not muslim, reason why parents left the country right b4 the revolution).
So this article shows how america can become safer and more/completly independent from middle east oil, our only reason to be there now is because
Bush and company are war mongorers and profiteers.
