Why are they called refugees??

The impact of the word "refugee" goes a little deeper than to call them displaced, homeless, etc.

"refugee camps" comes to mind..

Its the graver term, more solemn. Does it matter? It does to pompous arsses who want to have a "label" for these poor souls.

I understand what you say, but just who are "the pompous arses"?

Those in power too chicken to call them what they are: Detainees.
