Maybe it's just me, but wasn't US national security and emergency response supposed to be better now since 911?

As we all know, 911 was used to make wars and bring security in exchange for some freedoms. I see the fading freedoms and the increase in some 'securities', but something isn't sitting right with Katrina.

One of the things preached to us by our 'brave, honest' leaders after 911, was improved response to emergerncies. Seems they've spent billions on preventive measures, but took from responding if something DOES happen.

I do not have much faith in the governing powers anymore. If something does happen, be ready to take of your self - no is going to come help you. It is sad, because they told us that they would be better able to respond to an emergency - all we had to do is give them more power. Katrina has not shown me any imporvements at all in response - in fact, it seems worse.

Am I being too judgemental here?
