just a question about post numbers...

OK I might be a new member but believe me I have been around...
But I was wondering is it better to

A. get 200 posts ( to read chat and or join in ) buy replying to diffrent topics that I read time well spent.

or

B. get 200 posts in intro topic replying to every new post and old saying welcom to ats or Hi or what ever just to get 200 posts for the chat ( to read and or join in ) which can be done in a few minutes.

Reason I ask is because diffrent forms ( spelling ) I go to, I see many new people jump abord hit every new person to say hi, all thou 1hr 30 min old, they tend to rack up posts and get into other areas or get privlages ( spelling ) that come with the higher posts.

It would be desired that you make good posts to get to 200. I've been here over 2 years and am just now about to break 1000. Don't worry though, you'll get there eventually.

That's definitely NOT good board etiquette. Nobody likes, for lack of a better word, a n00b. And, if you've got privileges after four days, nobody's gonna think much of it anyway.

Come here, make good, high quality posts. Explore BTS and PTS. Become an active part of the community. That's all there is to it.

Why are you so eager to get to chat? The good stuff's in here, man, in the threads.

Speaking for MA personally, MA prefers to see replies to good intros where the new member says something of substance about themselves, and the responding members offer a genuine welcome that is encouraging and personalised to the new member, rather than a copy and paste that reads the same in every single Introduction thread.

Why would a bat necessarily be "evil" anyway?

If you start up a few good threads and get a debate going with a few members your post count will grow very fast.

If you don't have a good topic to start a thread, get in on the discussions going on in some of the others that interest you. With earnest conversations about any topic on the boards you'll have 200 posts before you know it. And in doing so, you'll gain the respect of the rest of the community by making a meaningful contribution.

Speaking personally for Majic, Majic prefers to see thoughtful posts worth reading.

Majic is a member of other boards where post count and join date mean much more than they do here. As a result, on one of them, there are massive threads consisting of posts whose entire sentiment consists of the expression "123", and nothing more.

Needless to say, getting worthwhile information from such a board is usually not worth the trouble, but I drop by there now and then to see if anything has improved. I'm not sure why people think it's so important to have a lot of posts on a board no one -- even the old-timers -- honestly considers worth reading.

On ATS, steps are being taken to avoid a similar fate. One-liners are discouraged, copy-paste, auto-quote and spambot posts are quick ways to lose points and ultimately one's ability to log in, and so on.

Most members will find, as I did, that the real reward of being a member of ATS comes from having the opportunity to share opinions with other members who may disagree on many things, but are ultimately still of a like mind on such broad issues as the question of conspiracies and widespread deception of the public.

Joining our community with that in mind, and sharing your own honest views and opinions will, as a matter of course, lead to benefits and rewards not only related to board mechanics -- staff applause for a single post is worth as much as 250 unapplauded posts, or 125 replies to a thread, for example -- but to the respect and appreciation of your fellow members.

In my opinion, that is the only truly meaningful perquisite ATS ultimately offers, because without that, all the post count status or ATS/BTS/PTS points in the world are worthless.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

Whatever membership strategy you may choose, I wish you well.

It's not that he's referring to himself in the third-person that I find disturbing.

It's that he switches between first and third with great ease. I think that, psychologically speaking, this isn't a good sign. I have no idea of what but lack of knowledge has never stopped me before.

Thats a long story but to make it short something I am and can be and Bats I love bats had one as a pet, have one as a pendent , will get one as a tat. So EvilBat became me, throu out the cyber word.

I had a pet bat...he lived in my mulberry tree and kept my parents awake all night... I used to sit outside at night as a kid and talk to him. I called him berry because of the mulberries he loved so much and he was my bestest friend.

And I thought it was the red pills for majic not the blue ones...

Now I must admit when I wanted to get my posts up a tad for chat, I did a mighty fine job that week welcoming our new members.....

I, too, had a pet MAJIC...err I mean BAT as a child until the control officers came and forced it out of my death-grip like clutches. Boy was 2012 an angry bat grabber that day my friend, oh yes he was!
