What does the US think of europe?

George Bush has previously upset many of the young Europeans with his comments, further irritated by fox news o'riley factors anit france campaign.

Is this a view shared by the US as a whole, do u see Europe as 'the old world'?

Don't believe the hype, man.

Not all Americans are FOX Network zombies. I know that it may seem like it at times, but really, it's not the case.

Personally, I've only spent a total of about a month backpacking through Europe (UK, France, Switzerland, Spain, Germany & the Netherlands), but the impression that I walked away with was one of friendly, charming people.

Hell, I even thought that Parisians were nice. *grin* Then again, I didn't act like some overbearing bully looking down on the local culture.

I think the point that you have to remember is that you can't stereotype an entire nation. Sure, there are lots of people with certain similar opinions, but in general, Americans, just like everybody else on the planet, are very much individuals.

I'm sure it'll piss off quite a few Americans here, but as an American, I honestly don't think that the US is the greatest country on earth. I don't think any country is. Being from the USA of course offers me opportunities that I might not have if I was born someplace else, but everyplace has plenty of good & bad points.

Then again, I've lived almost a quarter of my life outside the states, and might have had an entirely different opinion otherwise...

i agree, america is going to # right now. ive heard from an englishman that england thinks we are morons for reelecting bush.

truly, its all because of the electoral college. more people really did vote for kerry, but the stupid thing just makes it so that people's votes DONT MATTER.

George Bush has previously upset many of the young Americans with his comments, too, and old Americans and middle-aged Americans. He's not a very popular guy here right now.

Absolutely not! (speaking for myself) I love Europe and Europeans! They're so progressive in their thinking. So laid-back and accepting of others. Very cool!
