N.O. Mayor Nagin Says Some Officers Committed Suicide

"Some firefighters and police officers have been pretty much traumatized. and we've already had a couple of suicides," Nagin told CNN.

"They've been holding the city together for three or four days, almost by themselves, doing everything imaginable," Nagin said, "and the toll is just too much for them."

Whoa. And I thought I felt guilty. But that is hardcore. I can only imagine what they must have been through to commit suicide shrouded in anguish and shame at not being able to contain the problems.

But it wasn't their fault! No human could adequately prepare for the scenario about to unfold on their doorstep. I just wish these officers had at least waited to talk to someone first.

I was reading that also in our local news agency.

At least two Police Officers commited Suicide; one has lost his entire Family in the Hurricane and his House and basicly Everything.
