What do French fries have to do with destructions of Hurricance Katrina?

THEY believe that: Katrina did not do as much damage to United States as France did. France is seen by Washington as a near dark enemy. France humiliated America at the UN before the Iraq war. It is because of that, that the American troops are bogged down in a Vietnam senario in Iraq. France is to blame for the mess.

Now all things French have to go from the US.

New Orleans and in fact the entire state of Louisiana has so much French influence.

This is intolerable to THEM who have lost face to the French.

the plan is to get rid of this little France in the back yard.

first step is to let New Orleans be destroyed. Hence the delay in relief to the victims, who would hate the city so much that they wouldnt WANT to return.

Second step is to get the people settled in other states.

Third, to build the destroyed city as a site for military complex.

fourth: unknown.

I would have to agree with you. Even more so, about your third point to where the government will indeed build up a huge or multiple military complexes in that area. I'm in the military myself and it makes me sick why and how I can clearly see the reasoning behing such a horribly obvious delayed reaction in getting help through law enforcement, National Guard Troops, and the fact that Marshall Law hasn't even been implemented. Many reasons, most in which are full of sick hidden agendas make up the basis of why this is all happening. Mad Max, Escape from L.A., we've all seen these movies and I can garantee you this area will not be rebuilt, but left as is for military orchestration through building bases, jails, and sucking out all the oil (which is a hell of a lot) this area is worth and much, much more. So until then...

I'd also like to point out that Bush turned down an offer for water filters from France including shipping while people are in desperate need of clean water.

No, new orleans is not hatian. You do know where Orleans is, right? Just like York? York is in England...New York is in the US. Orleans is in France...New Orleans is in the US.

Interesting how there will be massive military installations built in new orleans that come just after the government announced many closings of military installations around the united states...hmmmm.

Wai... What?. . . Are you serious. Just because a place is named after french places dont make it French. Beside when I said 'I think there haitian' I shouldve said I knew theyre haitian. Thats why New Orleans has the most Voodoo practicioners outside of haiti.

Who am I to think New Orleans is French for having such distinct neighborhoods such as...oh, I don't know...the French Quarter!

Uh, the fact that it is named the French Quarter doesn't make it French, nor does the name of the town make it French.
LLSS, please tell me you are either joking or haven't been to NO!

So USA wants one part of itself destroyed over an economical disagreement with another country, just because that other country has influenced the part of USA under destruction in the past?

Oh God, where is this world heading to!!!!

The Acadians (French people) in Nova Scotia refused to take the Oath of Allegiance when the French ceded the area to the British. Their steadfast denial got them expelled forcibly from that area as well as other places firmly in British control.
On August 11, 1755, about 10,000 were caught up in the expulsion. Some were brought to the New England colonies and the rest (50%) wound up in New Orleans, later to be called Cajuns.

The above link has some interesting details...googling will get you lots more.
The story of Evangeline is about a fictional lady who died trying to find her lover in New Orleans after they were seperated during the expulsions.

What are you trying to say Masque. We know it was founded by france and we know cajuns live there but Cajun culture and french culture are hardly similar. For example the french cook with wine, cajuns cook with grease. Cajuns may be decended from france and New Orleans may be founded by french but its not french. Using your logic, Morroccans are French, Alaskans are Russian and the Pennsylvania Dutch are German. Lets just agree that Nawlins is a gumbo of ethnicitys

I'm just pointing out the rich history behind New Orleans. The original concept of this thread was that there is some conspiracy of (as Mr Conspiracy said) "all things French have to go from the U.S." and "get rid of the little France in the back yard".

What also would have to be gotten rid of is the history of New Orleans.

I'm wondering why anyone would even consider wiping out what I see as a wonderful part of American history. It's the reason ("the gumbo of ethnicities") I love New Orleans so much.

But also, in the first link, you'll find that legal wrangling is still going on at the highest levels as the Picayune story showed.

I'm not using logic at all...just showing the history. By that line of thinking, Canada would be Dutch.

Whoever did reside in NOLA before Katrina is not the point of this thread.
The four points quoted are.
Please, back to the intended topic.

Interesting observation and I might add to it.

NEW YORK TIMES

PARIS, Sept. 3 - President Jacques Chirac was hospitalized late on Friday after suffering unspecified vascular trouble, and is expected to remain in the hospital for a week, his office said Saturday.

How about New Orleans was in an active hurricane region.

How about it was 5+ feet under the sea protected by dam's.

How about it was surrounded by marsh and fairly close to the coast.

All that makes it seems logical that Mother Nature played out like she always does.

The history of my ancestors is quite interesting. Not all were caught, many escaped in the forest and avoided capture for years while others fought in the resistance which was suported by the natives.

My own ancestry includes resistance fighters and high ranking French army officers.

The whole New Orleans situation bothers me even more because of my cultural and historical link.
