I just saw an interview with Louisiana's govenor on CNN and she looked like an air-head who couldn't even come up w/ when she ordered aid or how much she asked for . She mentioned maybe it was Tuesday.

She didn't even know what today was. She thought today was wednesday

Well, maybe she's a dumby and doesn't care, or:

People lose track of time and appear to be stupid when they work for an entire week straight without sleep under extreme stress.

So many questions, so many pleas to 'not blame Bush' or anyone else for that matter.

The UK Independent had this to say about the Bush administration:

The criticism is all the sharper because the President did nothing to alter his holiday schedule for 48 hours. Vice-President Dick Cheney remains on holiday in Wyoming. Condoleezza Rice, the Secretary of State, returned to Washington after being seen shopping for $7,000 shoes in Manhattan as New Orleans went under.

news.independent.co.uk...

Condi shops for shoes. Yes, it's true. She was spotted watching Spamalot (Monty Python spoof) in NYC and also shopping for shoes while the crisis was going on.

What does surprise us: Just moments ago at the Ferragamo on 5th Avenue, Condoleeza Rice was seen spending several thousands of dollars on some nice, new shoes (we’ve confirmed this, so her new heels will surely get coverage from the WaPo’s Robin Givhan). A fellow shopper, unable to fathom the absurdity of Rice’s timing, went up to the Secretary and reportedly shouted, “How dare you shop for shoes while thousands are dying and homeless!” Never one to have her fashion choices questioned, Rice had security PHYSICALLY REMOVE the woman.

Angry Lady, whoever you are, we love you. You are a true American, and we’ll go shoe shopping with you anytime.

Note, this image is NOT repeat NOT of Condi's shoes. Just some *I* picked out for her based on her politics, seasonal colours and personal preference. You can feel free to find your own on the provided ferragamo link.

What exactly should she have been doing? What is the role of the Secretary of State in a natural disaster? What was the Vice President supposed to be doing? If he would have gone to Louisiana you would all be screaming "Here comes Cheney trying to drum up busuness for Haliburton." or something like that. With the instant communication capabilities that exist today it is not necessary for someone to be on the scene to be in the loop. This is just a cheap shot by the media to try to stir up controversy and sell more papers or get more people to watch this crap. If Rice and Cheney did go to New Orleans these same people would be saying "Here they are to get their photo op." This has no relevence to anything

JIMC5499,

President Johnson was a great arm twister, you could hardly say no to him no matter your party.

President Eisenhower same.

President Truman Said,'The buck(blame sits) stops here!'

We live in different times now. In the time of Truman, Eisenhower and Johnson the government had the trust of the people and the news media presented unbiased facts instead of biased conjecture. if any one of these men were President today they would be handcuffed as is the current President.
