So if I get this right Bush (rove) and boys just thought of this reason “we have to save the oil”? I don’t think so seeing that they had the plan to invade Iraq some time before 911.
Witch means they where after the oil to begging with seeing there where no terrorists in Iraq. Sadam took care of that.

Bush gives new reason for Iraq war
By Jennifer Loven, Associated Press | August 31, 2005

Says US must prevent oil fields from falling into hands of terrorists

Snip~~
The president, standing against a backdrop of the USS Ronald Reagan, the newest aircraft carrier in the Navy's fleet, said terrorists would be denied their goal of making Iraq a base from which to recruit followers, train them, and finance attacks.
''We will defeat the terrorists," Bush said. ''We will build a free Iraq that will fight terrorists instead of giving them aid and sanctuary."
~~
''If Zarqawi and [Osama] bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. ''They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."
Boston Globe

I can’t over these guys they really do make there own reality.
Next Bush will be claiming the terrorist where responsible for the Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast.

Well it make sense to make such a bold statement due to the fact that US is experiencing the problems with oil prices and wide spread panic of shortage.

We are after all a very Dependant country on foreign oil, so while people get angry at the pump Mr. Bush can justify the taking over Iraq and its vast oil resources for the good of the US.

It may sound bad to you and me and others but for many other Americans it sounds just right.

Mind games are just so easy to used to manipulate public opinion.

By the way some muslin extremist are already taking credit along with Allah for the Hurricane.

No, actually it was the terrorists [having a host of implied references here] who claimed that Bush was responsible for Hurricane Katrina, the Indonesian tsunami, among other devasting world events and tragedies.....

Apparently, I can't say anything much to whatever Bushie is doing or to the excuses he made for the Iraq war or whatever. Bushie is known for such stuffs. Everybody knows it. You, me, him, her, they and them. I guess it'll take REALLY GOOD men to stop evil from flourishing.

What I'm implying is I don't think Bushie is one of the good guys (neither is Al-Qae-die or Osama Been Laid) . He's just a sad and lonely kid hanging out with the bulleys in the school yard.

From a political point of view, I don't think starting a war with the reason of protecting the oil from evil is a good excuse. Hell, you might as well attack some other nation with oil and give that same excuse.

Oh well, guess by now you have the idea that I despise Bushie. Bingo baby cakes!!

And Bush is an old hat at doing just that; playing on people's emotions to further his own agenda. He desperately needs support for his war right now, which is slipping away day by day. No doubt, he's thankful for another event he can use to manipulate Americans' loyalties. "Remember 9/11" is getting so old, even to him... Now he can elaborate, not on the fear of being attacked by terrorists, but on the fear of losing "our precious" to the terrorists....

At least he's honest for the First time in his career as a President.

That counts for someting, huh?

If you replace some Words with OIL things become much clearer...

"We will not rest until OIL is America's and our OIL is secure"

First it was WMD, then it was the Al-Quiada connection, then it was because Saddam was evil and now its because of oil?

Excellent, i do like a war with clear ambitions, even in Vietnam the US knew what they wanted.

No, Sauron did not say Bush stated the terrorists were responsible for Hurricane Katrina. He simply stated in a seemingly sarcastic manner that he wouldn't be surprised if Bush blamed the hurricane on terrorists. Frankly, I wouldn't be either. Therefore, your response is unwarranted because he wasn't talking about something Bush already said (unlike the terrorists), because, as you'd agree, Bush didn't already say it.

Try reading CAREFULLY next time. Understanding is key for meaningful discussion. K?

Yeah and you could play word games all day like say.
"We will not rest until the UK is Americas and our land is secure."

OR
"We will not rest until the north sea is Americas and our fish are secure."

Hey, he flew over the devistated area in AF1, what do you want? And I'm sure he thinks about it every day. Every day!

I am a bit disappointed in our government's slow and and seemingly small reaction to such a horrible event (of which we had 3 days' warning). Miles O'Brian mentioned this this morning and the Governor of Mississippi jumped all over him.

Could this casual response be a ploy to keep the country's attention on the disaster and to extend the effects on oil prices to gain more support for the 'oil-stealing terrorists' story? Yeah, I know, I'm a cynical sort.

Oooh! Look over there!!

I guess now we can justify getting into Iran and its oil reserves after all with all the problems in the world and now our own tragedy to think about oil is not longer a luxury that belong in the hands of bad governments and radical extremist.

Now we can save the oil in Iran too. So when are we attacking.

Oh come one people, I for one was with you on the hounding them about lieing front but come on, that was was quite some time ago and frankly they are not stupid enough to do it again.

Iran is an issue that will need to be faced , one day or another , we cant hide behind the shield ignorance and not get involved.

There is nothing about 'stupid' here. Unless you mean stupid like a fox. You think because they lied once (and it worked) and it's been 'some time', they won't lie again? You think they learned their lesson? The lesson they learned is that no matter what ridiculous lies they tell, many people will believe them and support them in their agenda!

What exactly is going to prevent them from lying when half the country believes them and blindly follows them (on principle) whatever ridiculous lies they should tell? Why should they tell the truth when half the country is listening to them about how to think and what to feel?

Will they tell us the truth this time, or will some just fall for it again or for the first time, thinking they're not stupid enough to lie again?

The best excuse I heard from bush on Iraq was "we're fighting the terrorist there so we don't have to fight them here"
Oh yeah? Like some terrorist in the U.S is going to say "it’s so lonely over here; I know why don't I go over to Iraq and join my brothers by becoming just another dead terrorist?”
Well these people are so stupid given the political consequences of what they do that I guess it’s possible. But it’s unlikely.

The facts reply to what Bush said quite well: At the start of the occupation there was an average of 4 suicide bombings a month, now it’s over 35.

So a truthful Bush should have said "we're occupying the country of Iraq to encourage the terrorist to come over here".
Maybe that’s not the aim but it’s the reality of the situation.

And don’t dismiss it as an aim; as it would provide a terrific boost to the arms industry? After all post 911 saw an increase of nearly 100 billion dollars in U.S defence expenditure. I wonder how the stocks and shares of the Presidents friends are still doing? (For America’s sake lets hope their doing well).

That explains it. Why there was no money to plan proper emergency measures for Katrina, I mean. The war was so much more important - and not corporate colonization at all. Phew!

Bush Quote: ''If Zarqawi and [Osama] bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. ''They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."

Don't you love it when they openly talk about themselfs and their own ideals but hide behind the boogymen they created to take the blame.

I thought it was for the oil?

Guess they got tired of rotating through their various reasons. It's like they have a set of reasons (all of doubtful veracity) and they just cycle through them.
