Well when this happens will this prove to the rightwing pundits that the Bush Cabal is terrorizing it’s own citizens and the world. How else would the government know of another 911, if they had not planed it them selves?

Pat Buchanan's Mag Claims Cheney Preparing Tactical Nuke Strike on Iran

Deep Background

In Washington it is hardly a secret that the same people in and around the administration who brought you Iraq are preparing to do the same for Iran. The Pentagon, acting under instructions from Vice President Dick Cheney’s office, has tasked the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) with drawing up a contingency plan to be employed in response to another 9/11-type terrorist attack on the United States. The plan includes a large-scale air assault on Iran employing both conventional and tactical nuclear weapons.

No. When this happens, it will be beleived that we were really attacked and the president and Co. took the correct measures.
And the flags will wave once again. Bush will once again be at 99% at the polls!

You see, this country has studied us and they know why and how we will react... Its a slam dunk.

If that happens, I would suggest everyone meet up in Northern Ontario and we can watch the fireworks from a safe distance?

If the usual suspects fell for this again, they deserve to die. It is just darwinism.

Yes I’m sure Pat Buchanan has found out the Pentagons Top Secret contingency plans (If there are any).
Just goes to show you that we either have crap security or that we are really gullible to the doom and gloom crowd.

It appeared in his magazine but it was an ex-CIA officer who was reporting this.

If you recall, Passerby, Iran was one of the handful of targets that should have been on the board to begin with, as it is one of the largest terror-sponsors, along with Saudi Arabia.

You're saying that we should be blown up down here, by the way? Am I misunderstanding?

Regardless, to clarify my position, there are those who are attempting to destroy the U.S. in specific and the West in general. Surely, you are sobeer enough to realize that, right? And, there are those in power that controls the powers in government who look to profit from the attacks and subsequent reattacks. I am sober enough to realize that.

we have plans to attack every nation on earth . Is this really news to you ?
it would be just a tad irresponsible for them to think AQ will never try again, don't you think ? they waited 8 years between 92 and 01 to get the towers.

TC:

With all due respect what I am suggesting, is that when one nation has started a war with questionable intelligence causing how many of the worlds problems to escalate we should not be in such a hurry to beleive them the following time. The intelligence might be flawed again.

However, I wouldn't say there is a hope of heck that the US will listen to reason as their recent history is to do what they will do regardless of the considquences, in the words of so many posters on here, "Because we can".

Knowing, or at least suspecting, those two truths to be evident, then it is silly to request something that will be turned down, and so the problem becomes how can we make sure the US doesn't act up again.

Has Iran been cleared by the UN? If they are will that matter to the US? In the end it still comes down to it is the US's way or the highway - and if that is the case then the solution is to limit the US' ability to mount attacks willy nilly.

Using Nuke's for energy is still allowed right? That is the stated goal of these right? It is the US that doesn't beleive them right? It is the US that just started a war for no reason right?

What is hard to see here? Allow them to use it for energy, make sure the UN is allowed full unrestricted free access to the powerplants - all concerns are met right?

After we are done there then maybe we can do something about those WMD's in Israel huh? Or is that going to be different rules?

Passerby, the "questionable intel" was beliefved to be true by all concerned. It was also given by foreign governments. Even Russia has said that it believed Hussein to be guilty as charged, although it wouldn't have supported us anyway.
Iran has been cleared by the U.N. That gives me such warm fuzzies, I have to tell you. The U.N. is such a wonderful and efficient organization. Regardless, this is a war on TERROR, right? Not "Terror via the use of special weapons" as if that was the case, we wouldn't have attacked Iraq to begin with, hmm? No, Iran is a target, and should have been one of the first targets (after Saudi Arabia) based soley on terror support.

As far as Israel, owning special weapons does not make you a supporter of terror, right? As in the case of Israel, you might just be trying to survive whiole being surrounded by those who have repeatedly tried to kill you. That would be like calling me a murderer because I own weapons.

By the way, to make this perfectly clear, I am in no way defending Cheney. Cheney is a faithful member of little clubs that are not loyal to any nation, but to their own gain of power and wealth. As I said, there are those who are trying to kill us, and we must ward of these attacks, but we must also be very aware that there are those who profit from the death and global instability and might even allow doors of attack to be left open so that the instability can continue.

Iran does have the right to provide energy for itself doesn't it? This is about the Nuke's right? This is about an energy program right?

Or is this about terrorism? If it is, then I may agree with you but one should becareful with definitions of who and what "supports" terrorism as recent US action could show the same, history has shown the same and in the end we will be left with nothing more than a "We can do it because we are nicer than they", or "We can do it because we are stronger than they", either way I find that arguement based of differences of degree's and not kinds. So if you real point is that Iran has to be held into check because of their possible linkage to terrorism, then I will merely say I misunderstood the "official reasoning" as being because of the new reactors being brought online, and I will withdraw from this now.

If it is about the nuke's then can you explain to me why they shouldn't have the ability to provide their citizens with power?

Thanks.

big picture here.

world population going up + resources going down = conflict.

do you want to plan to be on the losing side or winning side ? don't bother with the sharing and brotherly love stuff, humans are not capable of caring about 5 billion strangers that don't speak their language or share their customs.

if we sit back and hope human nature will change, and kindness and peace will sweep the globe, we'll be learning islam and the koran in 10 years.

is that a better option in your mind ?

I guess I am just overtly optimestic about Humanity. I think that when the going gets tough real humans band together, and those that preach this doom and gloom about the evil human nature are merely saying that they are not strong enough, not brave enough and not persistent enough to help out.

They are not strong enough to fight their inner demons for control of themself's.
They are not brave enough to accept that because they aren't strong enough to beat their inner demons, that others were and are willing to help others for no other reason than it is the human thing to do.
Nor are they presistent enough to keep the faith when it looks like the bad guys are winning.

All of that said, what I find most discouraging is that with merely the mention of someone wanting to do harm to you, that so many will committ the crimes they themself's are frightened of happening, all in the name of freedom.

There is no them, there is only us, we are all the same except what we have been taught, and if you are to say what they have been taught is wrong, I would counter by saying you only beleive so because of what you were taught.

Rise above an "US Vs THEM" and see the truth that there is no them.
