Sits at 900KB and its based off the open-source IM client, Jabber. Google has only released a windows version, but if you are on Linux or Mac then you can use any jabber client.

To be honest i dont see myself using this... I like the idea though. They say they are working on a way to send messages to other networks. Like to your friends on Yahoo..... you can also use trillian's jabber plugin and there ya go. Google Talk, AIM, MSN, Yahoo all in one client
