Ecorse MI.

A major steel painting plant in Ecorse MI, is On fire.

Smoke could be seen 10 miles away from the plant.

The plant is located on Mill street in Ecorse, MI By Jefferson.

Will update when i get more info.

The smoke blowing out of the plant was a very weird Green/yellow/black color.

The plant is used to paint bumpers and trim for the auto Indistry.

Sorry about the spelling, i know it sucks.

Channel 4 said they will have live coverage tonight at 11.

The fire has been contained, the fire started around 7 PM there is still flames and hot spots at the plant.

The smoke has died down a lot.

The crown Group Home page

Home page to company.

!!Update: The factory is a painting factory. Not a Chrome plateing factory!!

Still trying to find out what was in the plant burnning. I belive there proibely is paint, paint theinner, parts cleaner, and other items used in painting.

Local 4 is reporting the fire was a Five alarm.

There i only 1 hot spot still burnning as of right now ( 11:12 pm )

The fire was caused by a paint spill on the start of the secound shift, No one is sure how the fire got started.

the plant had a storage capacity of 10,000 gallons of paint, Which where saved by quick responce by loacl Fire Fighters. They said if the fire had spreed they would of had to evacuate the area to a raids of about 1 to 2 miles.

Will Update if i get more.
