Why not teach kids something they can use?

I totally agree with the original poster.

Secondary school is a waste of time. I am not talking about primary/infant school where you learn to read and write. I am talking about secondary school where your subjects are things like geography, history, woodwork etc.

In my day to day adult life I cannot think of a single time that I have had to refer to logorithms or make a dovetail joint.

I maintain that the only thing I learnt from school was to communicate and socialise.
