Hi , some questions about Freemasonry

My grandfather was a mason he was also a policeman , my dad did not join even though he was asked by my grandfather to....
I have been going to car boot sales on and off and I can't help but notice how many Freemasonry items there are on sale at these things , why is that ? secondly why do Freemason's come in for so much flak from a lot of different people and thirdly is it just a big social club or what really goes on there .....
The stuff I have found out is mostly related to ohh big scary guys with wierd rituals and the 33rd degree crap I can't really believe , my grandfather died a few years ago and when he was alive didn't really talk much to me about anything like that so I would just like to know a few basic things please.....

I'm assuming that you're speaking of sales where the vehicle owners did not claim their property from towed vehicles. I don't know the answer but would hazard to guess that they are just the ones you're inclined to notice over the other items at the sale due to an interest in them.

A lot of folks have a lot strange ideas and believe the worst in the absence of actual knowledge.

Car boot sales don't exist in North America (that I know of) so your question may confuse our transatlantic cousins. The nearest equivalent is a garage sale. But I digress. I'm a collecter of masonic paraphernalia and I can tell you it's really hard to find stuff. You must tell me which CBS's you are going to!!!

FYI A boot sale is more like our flea markets than a garage sale.

Regretfully car boot sales have drifted from their original MO. They are certainly more commercial now than when they started
