I'm really glad they got back alright. The trouble they had w/ the insulation again has shown NASA that they need to get it together and get really rolling on the replacement for the shuttle. They have been real workhorses and have done a great job overall, but they are getting pretty old. Most people don't drive a car half as long as these baby's have been going to outer space!

That statement is a bit strange. How many lost crews would you lead you to say that we had more failures than successes? Or lost Mars probes?

In absolute terms, yes, there were many space shuttle missions and only two ended in disaster, but the failure rate is there.

Be confident in our space program!

You know, having time and money to fix the bloody plastic foam and patently failing to do so makes me think twice.
