Some banned members will be returning soon.

On September 1st, many members who were part of the notorious "Take Back ATS" will be allowed to return.

Enough time has passed for everyone to cool off, and get back to focusing on great posts.

However, three members who were most often observed to be "ring leaders", and in some cases contemplating exploits in forum software, will not automatically be allowed to return. An offer has been extended to allow their return in exchange for confirmed offline contact information which would demonstrate the sincerity of their intentions.

I just wanted to clear things up before people start freaking out that some TBATS people are suddenly back on the forum!

Do they get "unbanned" and revert to previous names, or get a fresh start?

The latter would seem to be more sensible in my opinion.

(Anticipating editorial workload in a pet hobby topic).

Can we have a list of who these people are? I agree with you there MA, maybe a fresh start.

what the hell was this take back ats thing about anyway? i seam to remember a few mods having it on avatars??

you see this is what happens when i go away i miss all the good stuff!!

just some foolishness about some people trying to take over ATS and making it there own or something it was pretty uneventful but hey while you were gone there was this old guy called GeneralDelimma. Now that was entertainment worth mentioning!!!

I think you are giving them too much credit, William.

Well, if input is being taken, I would agree that they should have to start fresh. But then again, I am not in a position to argue it.

They should lose all the points they accumulated as a result of the ban & have to start all over when they return.

Or does this already take effect?

i have a couple questions about this..

will they have to use avatars minus the "take back ATS!" logo? please say yes.

what about free mason? is he banned permanently? just wondering since we're talking about banned members and all.
