you are now being returned to your post....

ok when you make a post in a thread you are returned to the post you made in that thread....until it goes into multiple pages and then it just returns you to the first page instead of the post you just made (which it says it is returning you to).

has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, and i dont like it when there is more than 4 pages of replies.. or at all..

yep, that really bugs me. I would prefer if it didn't return you at all as you have to press back numerous times to get back to where you where. More of a pet hate really but still...

I tend to agree with the redundancy of exiting to the first page of the Topic you just posted in.

For Monkey, I would always send him to the 1920's photo of the female spider monkey, for constant revision so he can never be gender-confused again.





I would like to go to the page I just posted to (ie the final page of the Topic), to check the Post is correct (AND you never know who just posted over the top of you with words of wisdom or otherwise, if you don't make that perfunctory check).

It can't be THAT hard to program the link to that page, can it?

This is a long-standing problem with the core XMB code that runs this site (about 40% of the core code remains).

The problem lies in the calculation of the page redirect when you post, since everyone can potentially see a different number of pages depending on your preferences... the calculation would take some effort, and also CPU resources. It's on the list of things to look at... but it's not high on the list.

Why not just set the posts per page to a default (20?), and remove the preference option?

The objective of heading to what you just posted is probably better than the flexibility in that preference setting.
