UFO flying past Discovery?

I grabbed this using FRAPS at approximately 15:13 GMT. Satellite? I don't know, but at this time I will classify it as an UNIDENTIFIED Flying Object. You decide.

Interesting whatever it is. Notice how it disappears behind a portion of the ship but doesn't appear to come out the other side?

*edit* Because I recorded with FRAPS to view the movie you need fraps installed. Give me 10 miutes and I will convert to Divx and enable you to stream it rather than download the whole file.

OK, converted to MPEG 2, you should be able to open the footage directly.

Interesting, could it be a neighboring satellite?

That was my first thought, but it's moving pretty quickly and I don't know how close the shuttle is to any satellites. I would think mission control would be careful to avoid any near misses. I thought it was of interest because the cameras do not show stars so whatever this object is has to be very bright indeed.

That's funny actually, remember the theory that we never landed on the moon, and one of the "proofs" for it was that the cameras on the moon never showed stars? Perhaps at least THAT aspect of the theory could be put to rest by watching this video and understanding the whole "underexposure" phenomenon that tends to happen in such an environment.

IT could be anything...probably just a piece of debris that came off the shuttle or ISS. Wouldn't be the first time a nut or bolt got lost in space.

This footage is awesome. According to the object speed and trajectory, i suppose it should have indeed showed up on the right. But it didn't, which means it changed his trajectory or slowed down. Or maybe it's because the sun was hidden by the ship that's why we can't see it anymore. But it's just a supposition.

It's funny because each time we saw this kind of thing you can be sure that someone is gonna come up with the space junk explanation...

Check this article about similar events during STS-108 and STS-109 missions : www.rense.com.... Note that Nasa deliberately edited the STS-108 object out on rebroadcast. Why would they hide space junk ? Anyway it would be very interesting to know if that's also the case for what you grabed Maus0r.

I also saw something strange on a live NASA Broadcast the other day!

You know if it was just a Satilite or debris we were looking at on your capture it should have re-emerged on the other side the vehicle.

I get that clip posted and it is an audio of a 2-way transmission talking something about a PC card?

I was watching NASA tv today at around 3pm GMT(as I do most days) and I always have fraps running just in case I see something very cool or out of the ordinary. As soon as I saw this object I hit the record button. The first link I posted was the AVI straight from fraps, you actually need to have fraps installed to view it. The new modified link I converted to MPEG 2, but it has unfortunately lost a lot of clarity. I will post the original un-converted AVI here:

If you look very carefully the object is passing in front of the tube and then suddenly stops. Also it seems like It's rotating a bit. It must be something very small, maybe space junk or a mini ufo?

If any of you are watching CNN their footage of the shuttle un-docking from the space station shows an object just like that. In fact multiple footage is showing something strange and it's being played over and over again on CNN everytime they give an update about the shuttle.
