Any fans?

I just went to a concert of theirs at Jones Beach. It was pretty awesome. They're all surprisingly agile and good looking for their age, and the music, obviously, was good. Their "encore" was pretty lame, though. They ran off, and stayed off for too long. When they came back, THEN they did the "introduce the band and play solos" thing. That should come earlier in the show, I always feel. Then they played Rio.

My friends and I were definitely the youngest ones there. The opener, Dragonet, made a lot of jokes about old people (Viagra). Not normally the kind of concert I'd go to, but the tickets were free, and it was a day at the beach. Personally, I prefer a good (punk) rock show that I can mosh to.

I love Duran Duran. I've always been a fan of them. Do you have any favorite songs Amorymeltzer?

I haven't cared for their past two albums, but I have seen several tours before that and they do put on a good show. I grew up with bands like Duranx2 in the 80s so they will always hold a spot with me.

Duran Duran's fan club has a minimum entry age of 35 years, doesn't it?

I like to see how the older music is still being enjoyed by people today, no matter what there age is. It's far better than them listening to thug culture music.

I was a member of the Duran Duran fanclub. I still remember my membership number (28431, for anyone sad enough to care
).

I STILL adore the boys. I was utterly devastated with Simon Le Bon married Yasmin Parnevah - it didn't matter to me that I was only 12 or so at the time. He was mine, darn it!

Of course, I've forgiven him since then. After all, he did get hurt in that nasty Drum yachting business. Bless his cotton socks.

(I was even sad enough to send each of the boys "congratulations" cards when they got married, had kids, etc etc. Oy.)

(And I once sent Andy Taylor a lucky sea bean I bought from Whitby. I was that pathetic...he didn't reply, oddly enough...)

LOL, well that was quite some input into this discussion. Can I ask who Mike Jones is?

My favorite song is Come Undone. They had some good lyrics. The song Ordinary World is a good refelction of life today.

Can't argue with Rio, but I'm a big fan of Notorious, Taste the Summer, (had to look this one up) Wild Boys.

Oh my good golly gosh..."Tiger Tiger" was playing during a very, very important event in my life

Needless to say, I get a secret little smile whenever I hear that (on the very rare occasions that various exes and room-mates have "allowed" me to play my sacred DuranDuran stuff. Bastages, all of them)....

That, and "The Chauffeur" are probably my faves. But that changes daily. Heh.

I always go for the less known songs so I'd have to say that Secret Oktober is my favorite. I think it was the b-side to Union of the Snake or some other single around that time period.
