A good example is tooth-ache.
Untold misery can arise from an infected tooth, often when it is most inconvenient, like during a hurricane evacuation or the morning of a job
interview.
An infection in any tooth is easily fixed, but you won't find any dentists who talk about it.
1. Clove oil (they may call it oil of cloves), from any health food store you buy it in a small bottle = $10
2. Tear off a small piece of tissue paper of any kind and small enough to fit inside the lid of the bottle.
3. Put the tissue paper in the lid and tip the bottle up with the lid on, so that the paper is soaked with the clove oil.
4. Remove the soaked paper from the lid
5. Carefully reach the soaked paper in to the infected tooth and mould it against the tooth and or in to the cavity/infection site
6. Clove oil tastes a bit like a cough medicine made out of hot tomales, so try not to do anything with the inside of your mouth, just keep it still.
Within about five minutes the hot tomale cough drop taste will go, along with any pain
7 All pain will be gone within 20 minutes, and will stay gone for around 24 hours, or repeat earlier if necessary
8. This treatment can be done indefinitely, eventually the infection will not return because the decayed part of your tooth is gone - saving the good
part
Now, let's compare this with a visit to the dentist, for an infected tooth.
1. Hours and hours, even days of agonizing pain. If it's a child, this can be truly nightmarish. It means time off school, time off work, anger,
phone calls, fear of dentists is common
2. A dentists appointment is made. If you don't have health cover for dentist (most people don't) a consultation is $80 - $120
3. The dentist will require x-rays before or during the consultation $30-50
4. The either (i) pull the tooth (ii) remove the infected portion and fill with amalgam (iii) recommend that surgery is too complex and should be done
by a specialist dentist.
5. Specialist dentists have very long waiting lists. It's not uncommon to wait months for an appointment, and a consultation is at least double what
an ordinary dentist costs. They will usually require their own x-rays. The procedure itself can cost anywhere between $450 to $2000+
