I would go with a powerbook. I have used Graphics editing and webdesing programs on it. Have seen people do pro webdesing on it. It works fine. And anythig else yo u need it for it'l work (exept gamin). Bur I would buy a console anyway, as you'll have buddies to take on there. Just my 2 cents.

Quick update - it's great. Everyone else in my dorm lost the internet the other day, I kept it. Everyone had to check their mail on my computer.

Also, my dorm has tons of room, so with the big screen, it's perfect for watching movies. We do it a lot. Roommate and I are quite the hosts.
