i think a f-15 eagle would lose in a fight with such a great plane. the f-15 is a great plane but i think the foxhound would decimate it in a dogfight.

now don't get me wrong im for america but i think the russians are catching up in fighter technology and they might have planes equal or superior to the raptor.

While they are both described as "interceptors", the Mig-31 and the F-15 are very different aircraft. The F-15 can perform more missions and is more adaptable than the Mig-31. That is why the Su-27 and its variants have gotten orders while the Mig-31 has had very few.

YEah.. thats true.. but a glaring similarity is that both were slated for the "anti-satellite" capability..

who has gotten the most missions is not the point. the point is who would win in a true dogfight. the f-15 would easily get his [Mod Edit]kiked. since this plane exist, then for all those years the f-15 was not the worlds best air superiority fighter. it was the mig -31. who knows the mig-31 could even kik the raptors [mod Edit]. the raptor is stealthy but not as fast. stealth wont always garauntee the win.

i hope we go to war with russia soon, plz God let it happen.

1) Please refrain from using profanity.
2) How old are you with this "Please go to war talk"

The Mig-31 is an interceptor period and its manuverability esp. at slow speeds is pretty poor. Its not intended to be a dog fighter but rather to have a sustained dash speed at high Mach numbers and down incoming bombers etc. Think F-106 etc. Look at the cockpit its straight ahead.

The F-15 is an agile dogfigter / air superiority fighter. Full buble canopy and highly manuverable. Rember too that the Mig-31 and F-15's top speed are in the clean configuration.

So that being said in a knife fight the Mig-31 would lose time and time again. BVR may be a better debate.

Now compare say the F-15 to the Su-30MMK etc. and that is a much better dogfight scenario.

I wont even comment on the Raptor Versus the Mig-31

you could have these two planes battle it out all you want, the tech isnt what really matters its which one has a better pilot.

Check your source! The F-15 is an Air Superiority Fighter! It was design to go up against enemy fighters. The Mig-31, on the other hand, is an interceptor. It was built to counter the B-1B bomber. The Mig-31 was never really intended to dog fight!
