Mini Tornado brings Chaos to Birmingham (moved from ATSNN), page 1

A sudden storm has brought a small amount of Chaos to the City of Birmingham, England, at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon, which has uprooted trees, damaged buildings, and trapped people in their homes and places of work. 12 Casualties have been reported, one of which is serious. 50 ambulance crews are reported to be still at the scene.

More than 50 ambulance crews are at the scene of a mini-tornado which has ripped through south Birmingham.
The sudden storm damaged buildings, uprooted trees and trapped people in their homes.

An ambulance spokesman said they did not know how many people have been hurt, but that there were casualties.

Caroline Ward, from the Jon Carrie Nursery in Moseley, said the tornado ripped out fences and toys were whipped into the air.

"Luckily we got the children all inside but they were very frightened," she told BBC News.

Julia Banner, who works in a care home in Moseley, said: "All of a sudden it got dark, the front door blew open and all the notices blew off the notice board.

"The kitchen window was open and all the crockery smashed to the floor.

"It all happened in just a couple of minutes. There is a tree through a car and trees on houses - it looks like something from a film set."

Well, this is all rather unusual, was there not a small Tornado in Coventry recently aswell? I have noticed many changes in the Weather as of late, and I can't help but wonder what role Global warming has played in these freak occurrences.
