Wow! I just had no problem logging on to the White House website. I do remember not being able to access President Bush's campaign website, but I seriously doubt the government had anything to do with that. Other than that, I have never had a problem accessing a U.S.-based website.

I live in a country where things are NOT blocked. I can even read the ChiCom trash in China freely. Sadly, the ChiCom government routinely blocks Taiwanese websites.

How do you know your Government doesn't block you from seeing a website? If they do, you can't see it and will only know if you have been shown every site in relation to Taiwan - which I doubt.

I have never had any trouble at all accessing any and all websites I try to access from China. They are the same sites I accessed while I was living there, and a few that didn't exist at that time. I repeat, I have NEVER had problems accessing websites from China while in Taiwan. While I lived in China, I had trouble accessing websites from a number of countries, but the biggest problem was with Chinese language news sites in Taiwan. My friends still in China continue to report to me that this is a major problem, and it seems worse now that when I was there because the Internet is far more widespread now than it was when I lived there six years ago.

I can confirm that this is absolutely 100% correct. I have resided in China, Taiwan, and Australia all for many years each. Apologists who have never set foot in China, and those who are here with an agenda to push can bluster and sputter on all they like, but the simple fact is that the ChiComm government controls the Internet and indeed all other media in China in an attempt to restrict the flow of potentially damaging and "counter-revolutionary" information. It is the only way they can retain power and is one of the basic tenets of a communist system of government, control, and repression.

Sleep well Taiwan. The dragon will strike within the next ten years, as soon as the eagle is winged.
