Taiwan Military Policy

Recently, a Chinese General who called Zhu Chenhu (朱成虎）menaced that China mainland would destroyed US by nuke if US intervened war between Mainland China and Taiwan.
I wondered whether US have to diractly help Taiwan? Why US don't give some ballistic missiles to Taiwan to protect themselves? Because I considered that mainland China do have the power to destroyed several hundreds of American cities, US should let Chinese resolve the problem which belong to themselves but base on equity, US got an incumbency to make the Taiwan who has their own nuke, since US has stoped project of Taiwan's nuke and ballistic missile.
If US are not live up to their promise of protecting from Taiwan, that means US will not be relied on at every aspects. Democracy will burst up.

Armageddon will definitely come if the two major powers clash with each other especially in the term of nuke warfare.
As for Taiwan, I think the odds of its de facto and legal succession is quite small which is to my opion equivalent to that of a astroid hitting Earth. The reasons for that is quite simple but eloquent: firstly, Taiwan is more and more economically attached to mainland, for instance, in shanghai, the commercial centre of china, over 100 thousand taiwanese bussiness live in the neighbourhood. Actually, if the current trends continues, the whole taiwan economy will be vacuumed and much of it has been and is being transferred to the mainland. Secondly, as Ma yingjiu, the glamorous Taipei mayor becomes the chairman of KMT party, the future of peaceful unification is looming to mainland, 'cause Ma is quite pro-unification and sort of advocate of one china doctrine, and his personal charisma and determination would pave his way to the president of taiwan. Thirdly, lets ignore the us military presence in asia pacific and influence in taiwan, taiwan obviously has no match for mainland military power.
Imagine in 2008, china will boast an navy of more a dozen of Ming and Yuan Class nuke and diesel Subs. Only this could be sufficient for the destruction of at least on aircraft carrier fleet~and also numerous land based long ranged anti-ship missiles are deployed on the coastline.~~

It's kind of a bad time to give taiwan nukes now cause before taiwan gets nukes china would invade taiwan because it doesn't want taiwan to have nukes.

Why we must let Beijin knows that Taiwan will get nuke from US?
Why Taiwan have to get nuke only from US?
Communist Party will be glad to see that Twaiwan will be afraid of their economy destroyed by force, and US just be aloof.

Now we come back the keypoint where we left two years ago.
It is a time when US should determinate: desert Taiwan or suport Taiwan.
US have a right to desert Taiwan because Taiwan is somewhere far away from US, the island won't be belong to US forever.
US could suport Taiwan, because the Island belong to China is the first democratical place of China since 5000 years ago.
The price is not too expensive, only is let Taiwannees develop own nuke for defence only. But now, the news is US even obstruct Taiwan gain crusie missile. If US hope lose Taiwan to Beijing, you should tell it out directly, don't be afraid of that losing TAIWAN means losing all of east Asia.

If PRChina tries anything with Taiwan, the United States, Japan and Australia will
come to its defence as they rightly should, not only because we have signed
treaties to do so, but because it is the right thing to do.

PRChina is one of the greatest threats to Democracy, Freedom and Peace that exists today
and we are'nt in the habit of letting countries like that get away with attacking
free and democratic countries.


As for the nuclear thing, well the second PRChina even tried to launch any, the U.S.
would already have 5 in the air headed towards Beijing and major military/nuclear sites.

Besides that the U.S. has anti-missile systems in place, and as time goes on these
systems are becoming more advanced and more capable.

Plus the PRC government won't use nukes first, simply because they are actually
smart enough to realize they would'nt stand a chance in hell if they did.



Personally I think we should have attacked and destroyed the PRC government
and it's disgusting Authoritarian Partocracy the second it detonated its first test bomb in '64.
Hell I think we should have supported the ROC during the revolution, but I can't
(and would'nt if I could) change the past.



Oh, and to make something explicitly clear.
I despise the PRChinese government, and a small amount of Chinese people,
those being generally the ones in charge in the government, but I don't have a problem
with the vast majority of the Chinese people.

If any of you think the United States, Britain or Australia is willing to go toe-to-toe with China over a small island such as Taiwan you are deluded.

If American strategic nuclear policy was revised from overwhelming use of force to mutually assured destruction because of the glaringly obvious logical flaw of America causing its own incineration over the fate of Western Europe, I don't think Taiwan has a hope in Hades of such support.

If the PRC invade Taiwan there would be righteous indignation around the World and then that would be that. The USA, Britain and Australia, as well as the rest of the World, would continue to trade with China. Some might even boycott the 2008 Olympic games. Thats it. Those believing the rhetoric of armed intervention need to read the history of the Cold War. A nuclear exchange over something so trivial as Taiwan simply wont happen.

Well,
No such huge risk US should take, if US is willing protect Taiwan, all of TAIWAN needed only is freedom to develope their own appropriate weapon without obstruct out of US. But now, I'm anxiously watching that US is coercing Taiwan to give up their missile project by new batch F-16 selling.
