Something wrong with Bush?

I am new to the board and I apologize if this has been addressed already, but I had to ask you all if you noticed something about the president last night as he announced his Supreme Court nominee. Did anyone see his face jerking after every sentence? His lower lip, on his left side, seemed to jerk and move whenever he paused. Anyone else spot this, and, if so, what is the deal with him? It really stood out to me.

its possible that this "person" may be malfunctioning. or that he likes to showoff wat his lips can do.

I think probably yes. Well, I'm pretty sure something is wrong. I didn't see the announcement last night, but I have noticed he seems to have some kind of nervous condition.

It was especially obvious to me after watching this video of him 10 years ago as compared to 2004. It's like a different person. I know we all change in ten years, but this seems excessive. He used to be quite impressive.

Hey so you notice that Bush is not longer human, after the abduction by the Grays he is now a poppet and sometimes he malfunction.

What can I say even the most advance civilizations can not work miracles with our president even with his double.

Marg6043, I think you may be right. This would also explain his frequent difficulties with the English language. Just a glitch in the electrical system, I guess.

Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. It adds fuel to the fire of those who are convinced he's totally off the beam, and I'm one of the convinced. The nervous tic really adds to his overall effect.

I wouldn't know, but if it's drugs, I'd be more inclined to suspect perscription drugs. That crowd doesn't usually go for the recreational drugs. But I don't think it's drugs, I think it's a stress-related condition. Can you just IMAGINE the stress that man is under?!?! Jeez!

Look, they'll argue till they're blue in the face, but his supporters need to realize what everyone else does: he's never been the right man for the job in any job he's ever had.
When people are in situations where they're in way over their head, ticks happen, clunky body mechanics happen, fumbling of words happen.
This 'Chosen Son' never ever remotely prepared for leadership in business, the military, or politics. Ask a 15 year old kid to give a speech in front of a college lecture hall that's jam packed & see what happens.
The lack of intelligence + the unpreparedness + ever actually earning something he's been appointed to = THAT level of presentation skill.
It's a hideous feeling to know you're not worthy & have to go out & pretend you are.

In listening to some internet radio programs, it is suspected that he is a cokehead and probably hooked on prescriptions too. I wouldn't be surprised...he was in his younger days so I understand.

The President was doing his best not to laugh. Robert's four-year-old son was behaving badly and his mother finally had to take him and his sister from the room. That is why the President appeared to be having problems speaking, or as some have presumed, to have problems with his jaw.

New York, N.Y.: Last night I watched Bush's nomination speech on CNN. I kept thinking he looked smug and had an "evil" grin on his face. It wasn't until later that evening that Nightline showed the speech from a different angle, and there was Robert's son playing and jumping in front of the podium which was obviously what was making the President grin. Do you think the White House is aware that most people probably never saw that wider angle view?

Michael Fletcher: I'm sure they are aware of that. The White House communications people watch such broadcasts closely so they understand how their message is getting across. I'm willing to guess that they wouldn't have characterized his grin as 'evil.' In any event, they, more than most of us, understand the president's various quirks and they often put them to use on his behalf.

What I find more interesting is the way he half says a word then chooses another, a disjointed thought process or he almost slipped (Freudian)

It came out awhile back that he is on powerful mood stabilizing or enhancing drugs. That would totally account for a lot of odd things in his behavior. Maybe it's why he also gets hurt so often (just recently he crashed his bike into a Brit cop).

I can remember more than a few times I thought his behavior was extremely strange. He used to not be that way, or so it seemed.

I also agree that his appearance has changed markedly since taking office. I think being the president must be one of the most demanding jobs on earth. Just look at Clinton - he looks ancient compared to when he took office. He now looks like snowwhite.

Eight years is a long time in anyone's life, regardless of how demanding one's work is. Clinton has aged an awful lot since he took office, but remember he took office more than 13 years ago and he has had significant health issues.

As far as the President's facial movements during the judicial nomination annoucement, anyone who has seen the film clips of what was going on off camera knows it would have been enough to make anyone contort his face. The President did well to maintain his decorum, at all.

Let's face it, the presidency is one of the most physically demanding jobs on earth. The constant movement, constant business to attend to would take a toll on anybody.

The funny thing with Clinton is, (a) he would never release his health records while in office, and (b) all you ever heard about that (his health) was how he loved his Big Macs. What was this, some kind of JFK/Roosevelt facade? Look how healthy the president is! When in fact, the president's health was precarious all along?

To suggest Bush's level of involvement, committment, stewardship, erudition and passion is even remotely at half the level of President Clintons.
A clerk at Walmart endures more stress from their job than the way Bush has managed the presidency.
Working vacation my a$$, it's still a vacation & the "working" part is highly suspect.

HERE ARE THE FACTS ( as documented via White House posted information):

- Vacations did not stop, post 9/11 = what CINC goes on vacation during war!?

- The work day is 9 to 5 with a two hour workout/nap mid day.
Again, CINC....war....."CEO"

- Records for fundraising have been shattered - not because the per head has gone up dramatically, it hasn't; its's the "McDonalds volume " model. This president has spent more time in pay for plate functions than any in history.....as a CINC.....during war time.

- His total Kennebunkport-Crawford-Camp David time is near equal to his White House time

- He's in bed by 10 pm every night

Don't insult Clinton - love him or hate him, he was dedicated to the job.
All Bush's issues are chemical.....Beejeebus knows the son of a biiiiitch is more than well rested enough. The only thing might be the stress of a conscious coming home to roost
