Brazillian Mafia

This seems to fit best right here so here i go:

When visiting with my brothers father for the first time ( he lives in brazil) he told me about this sort of establishment of guys who live on this hill. they have larger amounts of guns, drugs, etc. once a journalist disguised as a drug deal went in but was found out by them to be a journalist. they proceeded to chop this guy up and throw him on the street at the bottom of the hill. the cops are scared to mess with em, they are sort of like a militia i guess.

Are you talking about the Fevelas? They're run down ghettos in the hills surrounding Rio, lots of crime, drug rings, guns etc. A good fillm to watch regarding them and their history is "City of God".
