EPIC: Homeless Tracking System Invasive
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has proposed guidelines for Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) that are extremely privacy invasive. The system would require communities to collect unique identifiers and health information from everyone who seeks care. This information would be stored for at least seven years, and law enforcement access to the database is broad. Any member of the public can comment on HMIS until September 22, 2003.

www.privacy.org...

Most people can be tracked through their social security numbers, but homeless people need something else.

I love this website and the articles you guys find.

SOme people who are homeless comit crimes. Its ingenious. How do you track everyone? Social Security can not track someone who is homeless. Mandatory Bonus cards?

That does not mean every homeless person is a criminal. Thats like Saying being Homelessness is a crime.

Why dont we make it a crime for someone to BE HOMELESS?
