The United Nations Head Quarters has been attacked by a car bomb injuring the U.N.'s lead person in Iraq.

www.cnn.com...

This is NOT good... In the past couple days there have been attacks on infrastructure, Saddam has been hollering, Osama has been invoking the "Faithful" to attack the "American invaders" with car and suicide bombs...

Sounds like somebody is listening huh?

PEACE...

Of course they're listening....stupid is as stupid does...

Can't we just get this all over with by giving 'em all 72 hours to clear out, and then turn the whole middle east into a glass parking lot??? Kidding....

Seriously, if we just stepped up the pace a bit, got all the utilities up and running, and some McDonalds, Burger Kings, KFC's etc in there quick, as well as some decent TV, maybe they'd simmer down some, huh?

Which makes it even scarier, perhaps they and Bin Laden's gang are in this together now, which is a huge problem for the troops over in Iraq.

I will be interested to see how the UN and the US react to this.

More to come.......

Did you guys hear that Osama made a tape instucting the Iraqis to fight the American Infidels? This is REAL BAD news on two fronts;

1. He is REAL GOOD at inspiring people to do dirty deeds dirt cheap.

2. This means he is still alive with out doubt. He made mention to recent events in his address.

This is going to get worse before it gets better I fear. Our troops are in the middle of the enemies territory fighting in formation against a guerilla foe. Sound familiar?

Reminds me of 1776...

of Afganistan, except this isn't Russians we are reading about, it's our brothers, cousins, sisters, and friends.

We must destroy them, there is no other alternative, it's too late to back down now.

Basically the Russians in Afganistan were doomed when they out their first boot on the ground. Without the population behind you Afganistan will never be conquered.

This deal however is looking more and more like the 1776 American Revolution to me. I don't mean in a geo-political sense I mean in a pure military strategy sense.

Take out infrastructure, strike allied Big Wigs and pick the actual combatants off in ones and twos.

Think about it, the ONLY way these guys can win a moral victory (and that's the only victory I beleive they can win) is to desimate public support for the continued action on our part.

Saddam made the regime fatal assumption that he could do it with his Repulican Guard. These guys are using the whole of extremist Islam.

The "dirty dozen of the desert" are rallying to Baghdad's call here. Imagine the havok they can wreak in a land so vast with so few "Peacekeepers" on the ground.

The LAST thing America wants is to send another 100,000 troops over there to get their arses shot off or blown up. The powers that be can NOT allow this to turn into another Viet Nam, the country will NOT stand by if that happens.

The $64,000.00 question is HOW do we keep it from becoming another Viet Nam?

PEACE...

We are not "in formation"...or involved in serious guerrilla warfare (an incident every few days???). While not an ideal situation, I think you are blowing it a little out of proportion.... Our troops are well-versed in Urban warfare, but to expect no casualties in a situation like this, is the height of optimism....

You misunderstand me. We ARE set up in CAMPS out in the OPEN and in the Cities.

The opposition is HIDDEN amongst the population. Therefor VERY HARD to eliminate. They have re-enforcements streaming in under our noses.

I have NO EXPECTATIONS of a casualty free campaign here. Nor do I doubt the training or capabilities of our personell.

I am making a reference to the strategy being employed by the opposition.

So who you really going to blame. An audio tape that is suspected to be Osama, the ghosts of Saddam and his regime or the administration who took us there.

I really don't think it's about blame. I think at this point we have to either KICK A$$ or HAUL A$$ one or the other.

This is just pure terrorism; it's an attack against everyone, even the Iraqi people. Unfortunately there are extremists out there who resist peace and don't want to see it happen in Iraq. We need to step up security an extra notch over there.

are coming in that it's the work of al-queida. Peter Bergen of CNN wrote back to a poster of DU:

I e-mailed Peter Bergen(if you do not know who he is, do a search) this morning and asked him if the bombing was the work of Al Qaeda.
He gave a yes and also stated the Jordanian embassy bombing was also the work of Al Qaeda. Also, he state jihadists from around the world are descending on Iraq.

This is going to get really ugly, may GOD protect our soldiers.

You have Islamic extremeists coming out of Syria, Saudi Arabia, and who else knows where.....

I found these articles:
"US now sees Al-Qaida as leader of war effort in Iraq"
www.worldtribune.com...

"The Iraqi Insurrection"
www.adamyoshida.com...

"The War is Over; the Jihad isn't"
www.frontpagemagazine.com...

Those folks were there to help the Iraqi people. The UN headquarters was for the planning and distribution of humanitarian aid to the people of Iraq.....very sad, and the reprocussions will be felt throughtout that country.
