police raid houses in yorkshire in connection with london bombing

four houses in west yorkshire have been raided and are being searched in direct connection to the bombings in london though no arrests have been made as yet

To be more specific, FIVE houses in the Leeds area.

The police theory is that a group went from Leeds to Kings Cross station on the train, then went home on the train afterwards.

They are expecting to make arrests later today.

These raids are being classed as 'significant'.

They were family houses. British nationals (of Pakistani origins) are being questioned.

No arrests as yet, and it is possible that the suspects were not at the scene but still at large in the north of England, and so it could be that their family members are the ones being questioned.

Airports on alert to find them.

Lets hope these people are the right ones and are caught.

The raids this morning have had a computer taken away. One of the cars outside one of the homes this morning is "very important" to the investigation, but will not comment on it.

Good, I hope some real progress is being made in the investigation

ITVN (channel 525) have shown footage of armed police taking cover either someone is in the house or there is a bomb, ITVN are not sure whats going on

5 houses in beeston (leeds) raided this morning as yet no aressts have been made, the raids were part of ''''iteligence-led operation'' and very significant.

and also in the same area 500 people have been evacuated as police look at suspicious package?

seems the police have just carried out a controlled explosion - could have been anything yet though...

apparently it was carried out to gain enterance to the home.

Update:

500-600 evacuated from homes.
Search is still on going at that house. Police and army still in the house aswell. Apparently the "owners" are not there and local people have stated the family had numerous busineses in the area. We are starting to believe this is domestic, but still could of had help abroad with the explosives.

Latest update - the house was empty.

Earlier controlled explosion at another house was to gain access to a house

Still, no news on the press conference, but there is meant to be one later on today, ill say about 4 or 5pm today

police have just confirmed that the bus bomber died on the bus.

scotland yard is now reporting a "number of arrests" have been made in yorkshire. no numbers have been given yet

The operation in leeds is directly linked to the bomber on the bus, who died. Security service confirmed this. The dead bomber (suicide bomber?) led the police to Leeds

apparantly they have also confirmed that in identifying the bus bomber it led them to raid the houses in leeds this morning
